    Kym Whitley: Actress/Comedienne

    in Entertainment

Funny, talented, and driven don't quite define quadruple-threat actress, producer, director and stand-up comedienne Kym E. Whitley.

JOIN JANETTE AND KYM as they discuss the "Hollywood Hustle" and how Kym has been able to reinvent and reposition herself for success in her field.

    www.KymWhitley.net
Kym created and co-hosted her own evening talk show on BET entitled “Oh Drama!” These same qualities have made her an in-demand player, starring alongside some of Hollywood’s elite in such box office hits as “Fun With Dick and Jane”, Along Came Polly”, “The Perfect Man”, “Deliver Us From Eva” and “Next Friday”. After a scene stealing run as the hilarious, wisecracking secretary in the UPN comedy series “Sparks”, Whitley became a staple on television guest-starring on popular shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”, HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, Disney’s “That’s So Raven”, ABC’s “My Wife And Kids”, UPN’s “Love Inc.” & “The Parkers, “The Boondocks” on the Cartoon Network and most recently on"School Pride"- the school makeover show.

In addition to her film and television appearances, Kym performs side-splitting stand-up routines weekly at “Whacked Out Wednesdays” comedy night at Sierra’s Café in Studio City, CA with her “partner in laughs” Buddy Lewis.

Due out this summer, she will co-star with Vivica A. Fox in the film “The Salon”, and appear in the new ABC comedy series “What About Brian” from acclaimed director/producer J.J. Abrams. Simultaneously, Whitley also owns and operates Kwick Whit Productions and has several projects in development.

CUTV News Radio spotlights Jill Whitley of Lighten Your Path

    in Self Help

South Ogden, UT – Jill Whitley is the founder of Lighten Your Path, a healing center offering a unique combination of alternative healing methods: Rapid Eye Technology (RET); Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT); and hydro-colon therapy, more commonly known as colonics.

“As human beings, we all have an inner knowing, but too often that intuition is compromised by the weight and stress of life,” says Jill. “Through Lighten Your Path’s services, ideas and answers will come. We just have to wake them up.”

RET encourages our natural ability to endure and release stress by working with the body’s natural stress relief mechanisms: blinking, breathing and rapid-eye movement.

Have you ever seen a child’s eyes flutter while they’re sleeping? That’s the dream state. But they’re not haphazardly moving their eyes; there’s a pattern. Jill uses a device to generate that pattern in front of the eyes and it tricks the body into believing it has entered REM sleep. If you do this while the client is awake, the subconscious and conscious can speak, allowing you to make a new choice.

Colonics by contrast can be a little nerve-wracking if you’ve never had one. Waste in the body can get tied up in the bowel. Sometimes it doesn’t evacuate properly, especially with our diets and lack of exercise. Hydro-colon therapy releases that trapped debris, allowing every other system in your body to function more freely.

“People get such different ideas about them. By the time they come in they’re really nervous,” says Jill. “But after the colonic, the main comment I hear is ‘I can breathe!” They feel lighter.”

The Fix Season 2 Episode 13

    in Baseball

ESPN Sweet Spot blogger Joe Janish and baseball pitching motion expert Angel Borrelli discuss MLB pitchers' injuries and provide injury prevention guidance and performance tips for baseball coaches, pitchers, and parents of all ages. In this episode, injuries suffered by Masahiro Tanaka, Doug Fister, Chase Whitley, Shane Greene, Jonathon Niese, and Stephen Strasburg.

Topics include: What is an elbow flexor strain, and what should a pitcher do if he is suffering from that injury, and what can pitchers do to prevent it? What should a pitcher do when experiencing soreness in the arm? What does it mean when a pitcher has "tingling" in his fingers? What is "ulnar neuritis" and how is that kind of injury treated? What is the importance of the front/landing foot in the pitching motion and what can happen if a pitcher -- like Strasburg -- has weakness in it?

Also, Angel tackles several myths about pitching, including: should pitchers run after pitching to reduce lactic acid? Can a pitcher safely pitch twice in one day? Can pitchers also be catchers? Should pitchers use a softball to practice the curveball? and other bad advice facing pitchers and coaches starting summer ball.

Finally, Angel provides a velocity tip that is easy to accomplish for every pitcher at every level.
