You're right - it's RARE that I would place such a strong adjective in front of a guest's name. Here'w why: it's important for you to remember Patrick Bradley. It's that simple. But...maybe simple is not the word here :)
See, Patrick "daylights" as a regional President of Whole Foods! Already, he's different, right? In more ways than one! Check it out: he started at age 8 on a bargain basement organ. And self-taught! He played in Church for several years, all the while becoming immersed in the Beatles, Elton John, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Oh - and Rick Wakeman from the group, Yes. That particular influence stayed with Patrick - when you hear the Moog synthesizer on his new CD - you'll smile.
Classical music training in college and Jazz appreciation on the side - gravitating to Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea. From school, he joined a five piece Rock band called "Joshua" - that group released an album in 1986, "Surrender." At age 24, Patrick decided to focus on a career that was more stable. With a wife and children, organic food retail seemed sensible.
While working for Whole Foods in Chicago, we came to know Patrick via his debut, "Come Rain or Shine." He was promoted to the Southern California division of the company and was able to record his second project, "Under the Sun." This was a partnership with Jeff Lorber, who was suggested by Patrick's mutual friend, Dave Koz.
He's REALLY good at being an executive at his exceptionally successful day job, but when you hear Patrick Bradley PLAY - and that means piano, organ and Moog - WHOA. We're kinda hoping that the music thingie takes over ;) Especially since the personnel on this album is so HOT! You'll have to wait to hear who when Patrick joins us on 9/16!
August 28 - Saxophonist/Educator/Composer - Kenyon Carter
Highly respected by his contemporaries, Georgian born Kenyon Carter, is frequently invited to collaborate on stage and in the studio with some of the biggest names in the music business. He expresses his creative and soulful style through a beautiful and sultry sound. Although unique and entirely unmistakeable, he has been compared to contemporary smooth jazz favorites like Boney James, Dave Koz, Kirk Whalum and Gerald Albright.
Coming off the heels of his highly acclaimed freshman CD, Right By My Side, Kenyon has moved on to produce yet another heartfelt creation. His newly released, Songs for My Father, exhibits Carter's seemingly effortless ability of blending gospel with Jazz, with an intensely powerful result.
Join me as Kenyon and I discuss the motivation behind his latest project.

Supreme Sense with 1SupremeGoddess = Common Core & Common Sense ..... Monday night, at 7:30pm Eastern ....
As my show's title indicates "sense" is something I value. At one point in my life the vast majority of people seemed to have what was commonly referred to as "COMMON SENSE". THAT was the "NORM" then. Sadly, the older I get the less sense, common or otherwise, people seem to have & worse as a culture, we now seem to expect people to have NO sense!
I'm always pleasantly surprise when I actually run into others that value such things the way I do & such was the case during a recent discussion I had on Common Core with tonight's special guest, Mia Koz (aka @MidwestUSATalk, Dir. of "Speak Up for Life" Pro-life org & a member of Project 21-The National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives ). We have very similar thoughts on Common Core & Common Sense, not to mention many other important issues.
So please join me & my Co-Hosts @NukNeutron & @1Anobody as we chat with our special guest Mia Koz, about current issues in general & Common Core more specifically ...
YOUR QUESTIONS & COMMENTS are ALWAYS WELCOMED & encouraged!
CALL into 914-338-1458, or if you are a little too shy to call, please feel free to participate in the discussions by joining the active chat room & let us know what YOU think.
We WILL get through these stormy seas TOGETHER!

As one of Bette Midler’s infamous and legendary Harlettes for nearly a decade, Melanie Taylor has been seen twirling and singing on the Emmy Award-Winning HBO Special Diva Las Vegas, as well as a 6-week sold-out engagement at Radio City Music Hall, and in a millennium photo essay in Rolling Stone magazine. Melanie has been a featured vocalist on tours, TV, and shared the stage with such artists as John Mayer, Barry Manilow, Stevie Wonder, Sarah McLachlan to Aerosmith’s Summer Tour 2012.
Melanie’s notable television credits as a vocalist and/or actor include Parenthood, The Voice, The Emmy Awards, American Music Awards, The 66th Oscars Governor’s Ball, MTV, American Idol, VH1, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Oprah, American Bandstand, Ally McBeal, The Guardian, Boston Public, Jag, and HBO’s Taxicab Confessions.
Born in New Orleans on New Year’s Day to a classical pianist mother and a family of artists, Melanie Taylor’s rich, eclectic musical heritage has helped guide and define her own artistry ever since. She is inspired by such diverse and unique artists as Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Donny Hathaway, and the poetry and writing of e.e. cummings, Pablo Neruda, Stephen King and Toni Morrison.
Besides touring with Aerosmith, John Mayer, Barry Manilow, Melanie has discovered many musical journeys with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Ashford and Simpson, Billy Preston, Chris Botti, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, Ray Charles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow, Michael McDonald, Jackson Browne, Sarah McLachlan, Tears for Fears, David Foster, Donna Summer, Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Ronnie Spector, Jeffrey Osborne, Brian Wilson, Jim Belushi, Sheena Easton, Paula Abdul, Carole Bayer Sager, Dave Koz, Willie Nelson and Deepak Chopra.
Crazy - this is a show that wasn't planned - it just fell into this groove - which is the story of my two guests! Rick Braun was booked for July 1st. But Richard Elliot was going to do the last Friday in June. But the call came - could we please re-schedule for 7/1? Hah! SO: Old Friends and Musical Partners will share a "Hybrid Jazz" - thrilling!
Exciting - Rick with his 16th album, "Can You Feel It" - and Richard with his 17th, "Lip Service." The first is due on 7/8 and the second on 7/15! Real and heartfelt music - and surrounded by musicians who understand the nature of what these successful artists wanted to convey. That's priceless. And what it does is drive home the point - more than ever - of WHY Rick and Richard have been so popular through the years.
Rick started his roll with the song by REO Speedwagon, "Here With Me." Word got out and he found himself playing with Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole, Tina Turner, Sade, Tom Petty and War. His album, "Beat Street" (1994), was a tribute to his years WITH War. And on his new CD, Rick wanted to convey the same spirit. Helping him out here: young players and seasoned pals like Philippe Saisse and Dave Koz. AND Elliot Yamin!
Can you believe that it's 30 years since the release of Richard's solo debut, "Initial Approach?" Our Scottish-born Dad of FIVE has been delighting us since - with his California Cool and Soulfully Hot Hybrid saxual expression (Ooooh!) He has toured the world as both leader and with "Guitars & Saxes" and Tower of Power. His collaboration with Paul Brown on this new CD is brimming with romance! WAIT until you hear :)
Join us on 7/1!
Rick Braun feels like getting up and dancing
Chart-topping trumpeter returns July 8 with “Can You Feel It,” his first contemporary jazz album in five years; “Get Up and Dance” starts the party at radio
Sherman Oaks, Calif. (29 May 2014): It’s been five years since trumpeter-flugelhorn player Rick Braun released an album full of the funky R&B contemporary jazz grooves that made him one of the genre’s most consistent hitmakers over the past twenty years, but the award-winning musician, producer and songwriter returns to his signature sound July 8 with the release of his sixteenth album, “Can You Feel It,” which will be issued by Artistry Music/Mack Avenue Records. A bona fide contender as the feel good anthem for the summer of 2014, Braun’s “Get Up And Dance,” a collaboration with tenor sax sensation Dave Koz, is already collecting radio playlist adds.
After scratching a creative itch to croon jazz standards on his two most recent releases, “Sings with Strings” and the holiday-themed “Swingin’ in the Snow,” Braun had a very specific direction he wanted to pursue for “Can You Feel It” for which he wrote or co-wrote nine tunes along with helming the production.
“When I started working on this album, which was about a year in the making, there were two goals that I had in mind. I wanted it to be really organic and have a lot of my friends playing on it. Young players melding together with the old faithful,” explained Braun.
So he reached out to a bunch of his friends, colleagues and collaborators and dialed back the time machine twenty years ago to the era of his breakthrough disc, “Beat Street,” to help chart the course for “Can You Feel It.”

More than an author, Jacqueline is a mother and grandmother and her means of readiness are geared toward protection of those she loves. Her guests include novelist and prepper Kirk Allmond. Kirk is a master at the little things that people just don’t know when it comes to survival. He has his nose to the grindstone and teaches his readers as well as entertains.
Also as a guest, Stephen ‘The Koz’ Koziniewski. When it comes to delivering humor in a twisted zombie story, The Koz is your man. Despite being an Eagle Scout and a decorated Iraq war vet, Stephen Kozeniewski has almost zero survival skills. (Unless speaking German, French, and a smidgen of Latin count as survival skills.) He assumes his Bronze Star was awarded due to a clerical error.
When asked about his ‘surival knowledge’ The Koz said, “I have the survival skills of a lemming. And not one of those fancy computer lemmings that do what you tell them to, either.”
Join us as we discuss survival situations in a Germ Apocalypse. Also, how our experts believe Hollywood fared with scenarios and survival in the Epidemic based films, Outbreak and The Stand. What would they had done if they were Stew Redman?

I went on an amazing cruise sailing from Rome, Italy, porting in Mykonos, Greece, Messina, Italy and Athens, Greece. Artists included Brian Culbertson, saxophonist Elan Trotman, Gerald & Selina Albright, trumpeter Gabriel Johnson, eukele player Jake Shimabukuro, and so many more. It was not my first cruise but it was my first Dave Koz cruise and my first time out of the U.S. It was a wonderful experience!
