OTHER WORLD RADIO GUEST: “KONRAD KULCZYK” TOPICS: We Are Not Alone in the Universe: From the Origins of Civilizations and Religions to Humankind's Final Destiny
KONRAD KULCZYK was born in Poland where he studied engineering at the Technical University of Warsaw. Soon after he moved to England where in 1971 was awarded a Ph.D. at The University of Surrey. He spent several years doing research in the field of laser applications and published several papers on this subject. His interests include psychology, philosophy, ancient civilizations and religions. While working/living in Portugal came in contact with a book describing the events in Fatima, such as the display on the sky which was witnessed by 50,000 people. As a physicist, specializing in lasers, he came to the conclusion that these events were neither of natural nor divine origins, but they had to be prepared by beings of much higher than human intelligence. Following this hypothesis he arrived at a logical conclusion that the intelligent beings had intervened in human affairs from the very beginning of homo sapiens on Earth.
In this interview OWR Team will ask Konrad about many mystifying events in the history of mankind, such as the origins of the first civilizations and the arising of the main religions. Certain events in the 20th century such as the fall of Nazism and communism are elucidated using this approach. We will explore answers to questions: Why the intelligent beings are interfering in human affairs? What are their objectives? and “What is the purpose of human life?”

Our good friend, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press Gazette, stops by to help us preview the Green Bay Packers' first NFC North match-up against the Detroit Lions. Can the Packers' offensive line, lead by Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang, hold up the vaunted Lions' pass rush of Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley? Will Aaron Rodgers stay upright during the game, and will another wide receiver step up besides Jordy Nelson? Can Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, and the Packers' defense gain momentum from their second half performance against the New York Jets?
So what happened after the Wisconsin Badgers went up 24-7 against the LSU Tigers? Where was Melvin Gordon in the second half? Why didn't head coach Gary Andersen know? Some critics like to bad mouth muni-owned broadband networks by spinning half-truths about cities they claim are failing. Loma Linda, CA, similar to other successes in the state such as Santa Monica and Burbank, is a winner on many levels when you assess the full scope of its network.
Loma Linda Asst. City Manager Konrad Bolowich joins us to describe the City network's impact as a business venture. "The network based just on revenues we generate is a breakeven effort," states Bolowich, "but the city government wouldn't be able to run without the network." He explains to listeners how the Loma Linda Connected Community Program:
led to Loma Linda becoming the Disneyland of Healthcare, which by itself has a huge impact on local economic development;
enabled the City to totally revamp and improve how it serves citizens while reducing its operating costs by 20%; and
continually closes sales to local businesses for a range of telecom and data services.
Bolowich discusses the City's effective strategy of partnering with developers to ensure new properties expand the network into residential communities, while scoping out tactics to bring broadband to other residences. He also weighs in on whether offering triple play (data, voice, video) services are vital to the network's success. There's a lot in this 60 minutes for communities to learn about how to win at broadband.
