Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. founder Scott Barnett is LIVE on Authors on the Air

    in Books

Written in a cinematic style, Gumption is about the creation, growth, and sale of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. The concept began when Paramount Pictures reached out to see if there was interest in creating a restaurant based on the movie Forrest Gump. It is also the personal story of the author’s growth as a CEO and creator of restaurant concepts. A host of situations are described such as restaurant concept creation, high stakes boardroom confrontations, and escaping corrupt officials in foreign lands. The narrative is partly an unvarnished peak behind the everyday scenes of restaurants, movie studios, and Wall Street. There is also an almost step-by-step recounting of how the Bubba Gump concept and others were created and operated.  Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcome the founder of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Scott Barnett who is here LIVE to talk about his book Gumption.

"Waiting for the One" author L.A. Fiore LIVE on Authors on the Air

    in Books

One of the most exquisite romance books I've ever read is "Waiting for the One".  Author L.A Fiore's story wrenched every emotion I had right out of me and I'm so delightfed to welcome her to Authors on the Air.  Liz wrote and said this:  "I love writing; love creating worlds of my own and characters that, after the journey we share, feel more like real members of my family. The goal of my writing is to not just tickle your funny bone but to also touch a nerve. I want readers to feel every emotion when reading one of my books: from ecstatic joy to exquisite pain. I want you to laugh and cry and when you come to the end, I want you to feel as if you lost a little piece of yourself to the story. My two latest releases are Waiting for the One, released on April 28th, a quirky romance with a dark side and A Glimpse of the Dream, releasing on July 7th, a love story about second chances with a twist. I hope you give them a try and enjoy the emotional ride."  Visit L.A. Fiore here on https://www.facebook.com/l.a.fiore.publishing.

Thank you to our sponsors - Gennita Low author of sexy spy-fy romance; D.D. Corbitt, whose book "The Amaretto" is a terrific Florida Keys sailing mystery; and to author, composer and musician Robert Gregory Browne for our theme music. A special shout out to our underwriters at Discount Pets & Supplies, where you can order holistic-grain free food for your companion animals.  On the web at http://discountpetsandcupplies.com

Suspense writer Linda Prather joins Authors on the Air LIVE to discuss writing

    in Books

Authors on the Air Host Pam Stack welcomes suspense and paranormal writer Linda Prather.  Linda says this: "Something was missing in my life.  I wanted to write.  No, actually I needed to write.  In the mid 90s I joined a group called Green River Writers in Louisville, Kentucky.  The next five years contain many of my fondest memories of being a part of a group of authors.  Critiquing and being critiqued.  Learning to hone a craft that isn't simply putting words on a page.  I combined my love of mysteries with my love of metaphysics.  The payoff?  In 2005 I submitted my first novel, The Gifts, A Jacody Ives Mystery to Echelon Press, a small trade publisher.  After several months of nail biting and walking the floor I was offered a contract to publish.  Wow! I believed The Gifts to be a good book, but my readers amazed me even more when it took 2nd place in the Preditor's and Editor's contest for best novel of 2006 and was nominated for The David Award.  Reader requests resulted in my writing a prequel, Sacred Secrets, which has not been released by Amazon Digital. Research into the third Jacody Ives Mystery led to my studies in the paranormal research field, as well as my becoming a Paranormal Investigator.  I'm currently working on the 3rd and 4th Jacody Ives Mystery as well as a suspense novel and legal thriller."

On the Air With Sierra Kay

    in Entertainment

Author and public speaker Sierra Kay's love of the written word was predestined.  Her mother concerned with the state of the public education system in Chicago encouraged her to read anything that she could get her hands on, including the spelling bee word list that appeared in the Chicago Tribune each year.

She was weaned on books like Anne of the Green Gables and Tale of Two Cities.  She snuck in romance novels that she hid between her mattresses.  However, her favorite book growing up was Aesop's Fables, which she feels puts her in an excellent position to share the moral's of her personal stories, whether people are interested or not.

Kay has an M.A. in Writing from DePaul University, won a Nuyorican Poets Cafe Short Story Slam and participated in Women’s Funny Fest as a member of the comedy troupe Spankx.  In addition to writing novels, she is a member of N2O Comedy in Chicago.

Creating Your Persona on Talk-N-Angels Radio Show

    in Spirituality

    Persona defined:

A persona, in the word's everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. The word is derived from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask.

In this discussion, we talk about how Spirit reminds us that we control what persona we take on and our reality begins to shift around us according to that persona.

My Guides say, "Let the image of yourself reflect your truth.  In the instance of the Persona, inhabit your divine being self and let it reflect outward in your human form. "

We are learning that how we are perceived in the world is a function of how we perceive ourselves.  We create our own persona and we can keep or discard any aspects of ourselves that we do not feel adequately represent us as people.

Think about how you wish to be perceived in this world.  What role do you want to play?  Follow what is calling to you inside your heart and you will be supported fully in your metamorphosis.
