On this week’s edition of Scottscope Talk Radio, the roundtable celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G’s classic debut album Ready to Die. Is it truly a timeless classic? Has it become hopelessly dated? Can B.I.G truly be called one of the greatest of all time with only two studio albums to his credit? Was he simply the beneficiary of east coast bias? Did he steal Tupac’s style, or was Pac simply one of his many influences? Was the official version of the album better than the early version? Can Rick Ross still be considered the heir apparent to the B.I.G throne?
We’ll also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Oliver Stone’s controversial masterpiece, Natural Born Killers! Is it still as shocking as it was 20 years ago? Does the film’s basic premise still resonate? Is it truly an indictment of American News media and popular culture, or is it merely a celebration of wretched excess? Is it in the same class as Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, Badlands, and Bonnie and Clyde? Is it the last truly great film that Oliver Stone did?

The story of Jerry and Joe Kane
The attack on Sovereign Citizens
The police fully realized that they had just murdered two completely innocent people that matched NOTHING of the killers, on the APB. The killers were Hispanic (the Kanes were white). There were 3 killers (it was just Jerry and Joe). The killers were all dark complected, Jerry was medium complected and Joe was light complected. The killers vehicle was a white Dodge Caravan with an Orange roof, the Kanes had a white Plymouth Voyager with a WHITE ROOF. Further, the eyewitness said that the killers were all armed with automatic weapons. The Kanes only carried a long rifle and a revolver with them on long trips.

SPONSORED BY MARK PITTMAN--Everywhere you turn, there's a breaking news story depicting a killing of an African-American by a police officer or a racially-charged resident, or an African-American athlete has been disgraced and dissected to a scandal or some inflated criminal offense, or even greater, a high-powered official who has been exposed for something. There are no aids, no solutions, no therapeutic or financial assistance or justice offered to the victims of these transgressions, yet there are massive marketable products emerging to produce capital for those who inflict the mess. Slavery movies, TV interviews and biographical books for the killers, reality TV shows, music videos and exhibitions bank on exposing the destrcution of Black America for cash that is not funneled back into the communities destroyed, but to keep them further down. The remote farming community of Murdock, Nebraska, seemed to be the least likely setting for one of the heartland's most ruthless and bloody double murders in decades. In fact, the little town had gone more than a century without a single homicide. But on the night of Easter 2006, Wayne and Sharmon Stock were brutally murdered in their home. The murders garnered sensational frontpage headlines and drew immediate statewide attention. Practically everybody around Murdock was filled with fear, panic, and outrage. Who killed Wayne and Sharmon Stock? What was the motive? The Stocks were the essence of Nebraska's all-American farm family, self-made, God-fearing, and of high moral character. Barely a week into this double murder investigation, two arrests brought a sense of relief to the victims' family and to local residents. The case appeared to fall neatly into place when a tiny speck of murder victim Wayne Stock s blood appeared in the alleged getaway car.
Then, an obscure clue left at the crime scene took the investigation down a totally different path, stretching into Iowa, Louisiana, New York, Texas, and Wisconsin. By the time this investigation was over, the charges against the original suspects were dismissed and two new individuals emerged from the shadows.
Author John Ferak covered the Stock murders from the very beginning, including all of the trial proceedings. When the criminal prosecution finally ended in 2007, he remained puzzled by one nagging question: Why was the blood of victim Wayne Stock in a car that was ultimately proven to have no connection to the murders?
Over the next few years, the astonishing bloody lies were revealed, culminating in a law enforcement scandal that turned the case on its head and destroyed the career of Nebraska's celebrated CSI director, David Kofoed. BLOODY LIES-A CSI Scandal In The Heartland-John Ferak
Peltier will have turned 70 years old at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in Florida, 38 of those years in prison while serving a life sentence in the deaths of two FBI agents. The federal prosecutors have attempted to portray him as a callous cold-blooded murderer, however, when confronted with with held evidence, a ballistic report said that Peltiers gun was not the one that killed the agents. Prosecutor, Lynn Crooks, admitted that they did not know who killed the agents! Due to a supreme court ruling, the federal court were unable to grant a new trial. Federal Judge Gerald Heaney, who presided over this appeals court hearing stated he felt a degree of discmfort with their decision and wrote a letter to the president asking that Peltier's sentence be commuted.
His case has been supported by foreign heads of state and world religious leaders, and is even considered a political prisoner by Amnesty International who have reviewed trial records and determined he has not received a fair trial. Peltier has also been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his charitable works, SIX times!
As we near his birthday, we ask everyone to help publize his case and create widespread awareness. Would be presidential assassins, mass murderers and numerous other killers have been released, while Peltier remains imprisoned despite a mountain of evidence revealing fabrication of evidence, coercing/falsifying testimony and other consitutional violations.
We will have several special guests on this program September 12th, and towards the conclusion of the show, we will open up as many lines as we can to sing Happy Birthday to Leonard Peltier. I hope that you will join us!
