Join us tonight as Kevin and the Marvelous Maggie bring to light some misperceptions that could inhibit your FUNctionality about Brain Injury Awareness the 11 other months out of the year.
How many times, since your brain injury, have you been asked, "What were you Thinking?" If you're like me, more times than you care to admit to, but since you're still here; "What's the Big Deal, Right?". LIFE after a Brain Injury brings on a plethora of 'side-effects' that often don't reveal themselves until weeks, months and even years down the road, after the incident.
So, how does one with a Brain Injury learn to understand how their brain injury affects them? How does someone with a Brain Injury know they have a brain injury, let alone learn how to manage it? It reminds me of the question: Does a stupid person know they're stupid? On tonights show join Kevin and the Marvelous Maggie as they share their 'Secrets' of creating a FUNctional Relationship in spite of a Brain Injury.
When you adore someone with a Brain Injury and they just can seem to get IT together, when do you get to that point of enough is enough? NEVER!
Having been fired from my job in the USMC, a divorce from an amazing woman of almost 10 years and teatering on the edge of committing suicide more times than I care to admit to since acquiring a Traumatic Brain Injury, I have concluded; LIFE is what WE make it (by the thoughts we choose to give our time and attention to).
No one makes us think, feel or do anything. We choose. We are the only ones who think, feel or do all that we experience, as a result of our level of understanding (or lack thereof). Tune in tonight as Kevin shares seven things that will enlighten your mind and your LIFE (with or without a TBI).

Brain trauma may make maturing brains "misfire" and disrupt the development of impulse control, social judgment and self-restraint, according to MedicalNewsToday.com but speaking from personal experience, it's a FACT! It was also my introduction to discovering the specific type of trauma sustained, had it not been for a 'misfire' after returning to duty in the Marine Corps.
If you have a Brain Injury, 'misfires' can be an common occurance, if not identified and addressed. Before a Brain Injury, it's referred to as a 'melt-down', 'anxiety', '30-something syndrom', and a plethroa of others unique adjectives however, after a brain injury I've heard 'anger issues', 'crazy', 'insane', 'psyco' and a host of others. Fortunately there is HOPE!
Join us tonight as Kevin shares some of his most memorable 'misfires' and the lessons learned from them. Call in and listen LIVE @424.243.9540 and share your success or questions. You never know who will be listening and how your question or story can help inspire others.

Most of us with Traumatic Brain Injuries are fortunate enough to have some form of support albeit a spouse or relative (begrudging or not) to help us with our day-to-day activities. What about those who's circumstances are restrictive albeit by prison or mental health systems? How does one acquire FUNctionality again?

Everyone has an Angel. A Guardian who watches over us. We can't know what form they'll take. One day, old man. Next day, little girl. But don't let appearances fool you, they can be as fierce as any dragon. Yet they're not here to fight our battles, but to whisper from our heart. Reminding that it's us. Its everyone of us who holds power over the world we create. LIFE with a Brain Injury is an opportunity to create the LIFE of our dreams not perpetuate the limitations of our ignorance.
Join tonights conversation with Kevin and the Marvelous Maggie as they share their story of overcoming the hurdles most seemed to get sucker punched with after a TBI. Call in and listen LIVE and/or share your Triumphs @424.243.9540 7pm PST!
