Join us November 10th when Michele Callahan comes to Other Worlds of Romance and reads an excerpt from her paranormal/fantasy romance, White Fire, Book 5 of the Timewalker Chronicles.
How does Ralph Ellison’s metaphor of invisibility play out in the 21st century? In what ways does jazz improvisation heighten visibility? How do writers of literature use the skills of listening, collaboration, and soloing in their texts? TODAY we’ll trade fours with John Callahan, the Literary Executor of Ralph Ellison’s estate and author of a series of novels he’ll discuss with us at 11AM Eastern / 8AM Pacific. Join us on Trading Fours and “get in on the rhythm.”

In the ten years that yours truly has been in Baltimore (this time around!), there are some significant talents that stand out. And always will. Some of the musicianship has been more than stellar. Let's call it haunting. And that is the case with the voice of Kristin Callahan.
Singing since she could speak, the vocal ability that Kristin has is worn like a second skin. She's comfortable singing - and it doesn't matter what genre. Though her golden throat lends itself naturally to Jazz and the Great American Songbook. And one wonders what's in Kristin's future - because if this is the beginning of her career and she's so good NOW - have mercy - what the heck else should we expect?!
Encouraged by both church and school early on, our Maryland Girl found herself in Washington, D.C. Under the tutelage of respected pianist and educator, Vince Evans. Vince was able to steer Kristin in a direction that felt both comfortable and challenging. And that challenge is something that she relishes. Her first project dropped in 2009, "A New Love." Last year, we heard the evolving bliss of Kristin with "One Magic Day." Some of the best in Baltimore and D.C. joined her on these 14 songs. Including Warren Wolf on vibraphone - and Vince Evans (of course!) on piano :)
Kristin's got an amazing opportunity to shine on 12/21/14. She's at the Chesapeake Arts Center - the same place where we last saw Jeffrey Osborne. She'll dip into both of her albums, some holiday tunes (no doubt!), and possibly give us a sneak preview of her forthcoming CD - which takes her into a new direction. 2015 should be QUITE interesting for our guest!
What a pleasure to share Kristin with you again - we had a lot of fun the first time that she visited! 12/16 at 3 p.m. Eastern - join us :)
I'm pleased to welcome Paranormal Romance Author, Coreene Callahan to the show on Thursday, October 9th at 6pm EST. She's right at home with romance on the razor's edge!
As the only girl on all guys hockey teams from age six through her college years, Coreene Callahan knows a thing or two about tough guys and loves to write about them. Call it kismet. Call it payback after years of locker room talk and ice rink antics, but whatever you call it, the action better be heart stopping, the magic electric, and the story wicked, good fun.
Knight Avenged: Circle of Seven, Book 2
Alone in a world on the brink of war...two unlikely allies will discover a love greater than time.
Exiled from her home, powerful oracle Cosmina Cordei holds the key to uniting those protecting mankind from evil. But just as she makes her way into the holy city to perform an ancient rite, the enemy closes in for the kill.
Drawn by a destiny he won't accept, elite assassin Henrik Lazar detests the mystical curse handed down by his mother. But when the sorcery in his blood is activated and past pain comes back to haunt him, his new abilities come into play and he must learn to control them.
Rescued by Henrik in the heat of battle, Cosmina must decide whether to trust the assassin who loathes the goddess she serves or face certain death on her own. Forced into an untenable position, Henrik is left with a terrible choice - protect the magical Order he despises, or deny destiny and lose the woman he loves forever.

Nominated for a 2014 New England Music Award, Kate Callahan, Connecticut’s “Best Singer-Songwriter 2013” has three albums including her recent release Two Doors, which was featured on WNPR's Where We Live.
Callahan’s music feels soulful and she’s unapologetically optimistic in concert. WNPR host Colin McEnroe praised a recent performance, saying, “Kate Callahan is the only performer I’ve ever seen who occasionally seems to be channeling something vaster and far more ancient than herself, something more easily understood by Emerson than by any modern person.
Kate’s credits include appearances at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artists Showcase, the New Haven Festival of Arts and Ideas, and the CT Folk Festival. She has opened shows for folk legends Judy Collins and Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul, and Mary), troubadours Aztec Two-Step, John Gorka, Mustard’s Retreat, and the late Bill Morrissey. She has also shared stages with folk-rock artists Rachael Sage and Regina Spektor. Stookey calls Callahan "real" and says her lyrics are "Zen-like."
Kate joins Take 2 Radio Music for a chat and music on Wednesday, September 3rd at 3pm eastern!

Branding and graphic art have been passions for Kenneth Pugmire since he was a young boy.
In this interview with Jack, Kenneth shares how combining these two passions has elevated not only his own business, but many others’ as well.
Kenneth would troll supermarket and store shelves as a young man, studying the differences in branding and price points, depending not only on design, but positioning as well.
He learned the intricacies of making something not only beautiful, but effective for producing sales and profits.
In his early days involved in direct response, he combined his branding graphic skills with direct response style design to brand offers. As he combined traditional media branding design with direct response, there was a significant increase in the value and price points for offers.
Deciding to brand himself to attract more customers, Kenneth found that business exploded for him quite quickly, in fact, within a matter of days.
To his surprise, in addition to getting more direct response clients, he found even more people wanted his help in branding them.
Branding others is now his core business and the results folks are having are nothing short of amazing.
Listen in to see how this came about and the results that can be achieved.
