School for Startups with Jim Beach

    in Business

School for Startups with Jim Beach is our show today on The Core Business Show with Tim Jacquet. Entrepreneurship offers a different path, actually a safer path. Traditionally, entrepreneurs have been considered the world’s big risk-takers. They were the ones who quit their jobs, mortgaged the house and went for broke, with broke often being the end result. This book is not about that. Jim started working as a research assistant at the Japanese External Trade Organization in Atlanta. He attended graduate school in Hawaii before working for Coca-Cola in Japan. At age 26, he founded American Computer Experience, which provided technology training for young people. He sold the company in 2001 and started teaching at Georgia State University. He now teaches at the University of Tennessee/Chattanooga. He has worked extensively with United Parcel Service to promote exports. This show is sponsored by Apple Capital Group, Inc. #applecapitalgroup #applecapital #thecorebusinessshow #timjacquet #jimbeach

Obamacare:What Business Owners MUST Know with Rick Liuag

    in Business

The full impact of the Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare") will be fully felt in 2015, especially by small to mid-sized business owners.

Many business owners were misinformed or lacked adequate guidance when they began to plan their employee benefits plans and are feeling a serious financial pinch as a result.

So, what ARE business owners doing with regard to the ACA?  Are they electing to send their employees to the exchanges for subsidies?  Are they continuing to provide health insurance benefits as they did before?  If they are providing health insurance, how have their premiums increased?

Never before has any piece of legislation had the potential to adversely effect American business owners.  Rick Liuag, an author, veteran insurance agent, and entrepreneur has spent the last several years analyzing the ACA and its' effects on families, individuals, and small business owners.

Rick Liuag, author of "How to Build Your Own Online Insurance Agency." and "You're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat," is president of Rick Liuag Insurance Agency.  He has worked with dozens of small business owners, clubs and organizations, as well as self employed professionals to help them understand and navigate the requirements of Obamacare.

    Business, Debt & Marriage

    in Legal

All too often people confuse their responsibility for debts incurred by one spouse of the other.  Responsibility for debts owed are not only premised on the State in which you reside, but, also on whether the debt was incurred before, during or even after the termination of a marriage.  Hence, if your business is not protected, it too can be the subject of debt collection between the spouses, or even a source of debt that can affect the personal assets of the family.  In this show, Bill and Rick put a defining perspective on when, how, and under what conditions, incurred debts may be jointly "owned".
