Keisha Tyree is a thirty-three year old author and mother. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, she currently resides in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area. Having been a lover of words and reading from a very young age, Ms. Tyree’s progression into writing seemed to happen almost naturally. Starting out, she mostly penned short stories and poetry. After sharing her work with a few family members and friends, Keisha was overwhelmingly encouraged to turn her short stories into full length novels. She pondered on the ideal for a while, but it wasn’t until she began working as a personal assistant to New York Times bestselling authors, Ashley and JaQuavis, that Ms. Tyree truly decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an author. Gestating her work for months, Ms. Tyree banged away at the keyboard every day until the last word was written and her debut novel, Heavy, was finally born.
?Keisha Tyree’s writing style is byproduct of the streets in which she was raised; gritty, urban, honest and uncut. Her work seeks to shed light on the untold stories from our nation’s countless, and often times forgotten about ghettos. “Shadows from the hurt of past pain lingering, makes it hard for me to heal,” are the words Kiesha Covington delivers in her debut single, I Found You. Through her trials and triumphs on this journey she has found that one fulfilling, staying power that has given her life purpose! This Mother, Wife, P&W Leader, Choir Director is not your average singer, but in fact what you would consider just a talent or gift, for Kiesha it is the sacred calling on her life!
Born in Atlanta, GA, Kiesha began singing at the age of 5 in her Grandfather’s Church. At age 16, Kiesha was enrolled at Northside High School, and began traveling with the Tour Show, which led her to Paris where she performed in concert. Her involvement with the Tour Shows birthed her aspiration to pursue her Music Ministry.
In 2009 Kiesha continued to move forward in her Music Ministry, and founded Sounds Of Praise. Sounds Of Praise was a performing Community Choir in Atlanta. Her encouragement need was then met in 2011, when Kiesha was nominated Best New Artist for Gospel Choice Awards.
Kiesha has continued to pursue her call to Music Ministry, while God has opened several new doors. Appearing in several Nationally known Stage Plays such as “Real Love Ain’t Supposed To Hurt, "If You're Real Lord Change Me", and "Church Folks".
Now, Kiesha is ready for the world to encounter the essence of her testimony through her music. With her new forthcoming solo LP, on KLC Ministries, Kiesha not only ministers out of her gifting, but out of her own experiences and trials that God has brought her through.
Currently, Kiesha Covington can be found every Sunday Morning at Clarkston First Baptist Church (South) in Stockbridge, GA where serves as the Praise &Worship Leader.
Kiesha Covington is not your average Gospel singer but has tapped into the heartbeat of God. In fact what some consider a special talent this young lady views it as a sacred calling on her life.
Kiesha is a native of Atlanta Georgia and a graduate of Northside High School. She began singing at the age of five. By the age of sixteen she began lend her talent to the Tour Show Of The Performing Arts. Her vocal genius gained much attention in her travel with the Tour Show to Paris where she performed for a week in concert.
She has toured with several local and national recording artist to Stockholm, Sweden; Visby, Finland;Denmark and several major cities in the United States. Kiesha has provided background vocals for to well known artist like Kirk Franklin, Vanessa Bell Armstong, Hezekiah Walker, Vashawn Mitchell, Terrance Cotton, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Merton Huff & UPC,Maurette Brown Clrak(It Aint Over), Kurt Karr, Reverend Darryl Coley and the Gospel Music Workshop Of America. Kiesha has faithfully served a decade with Dirk Chaney and The Chosen Aggregation and has been featured on his first live recordings and song entitlied "God Is Great".
Kiesha vocal aptitude had crossed her over into theatre performance without abandoning her commitment to the message of the Gospel. She has featured in nationally known plays such as "Real Love Ain't Suppose To Hurt", "If You're Real Lord Change Me", and "Church Folks".
She is a proud member of Total Grace Christian Center wshere she serves as a Worship Leader at both the Headquarter and Gwinett campuses. Kiesha humbly submits to the leadership of Bishop Jonathan Alvarado & Dr. Toni Alvarado to whom she credits her continued worship development.
Kiesha is a proud wife to Jesse Covington and a doting mother to son, Allen.
Keisha A. Rivers Shorty is the founder and Executive Director of The KARS Institute for Learning & Collaboration, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide training, resources and support to nonprofits, community organizations, churches, schools and small businesses. She is also the founder and managing consultant of The KARS Group, LTD, which specializes in providing personal and professional strategic development services to small businesses, organizations and individuals. Ms. Rivers Shorty is a grant writer, adjunct instructor, former foundation executive director, educator and administrator. She is the President of the Mt. C.N. Phillips is a twenty-two year old single mother and author who was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Taken under the wing of Ashley Antoinette, C.N. was soon dubbed “The Protégé” and has worked hard at perfecting her craft. C.N. Phillips considers herself a chameleon author and although centered in Urban Fiction, she doesn’t limit herself to that genre. Currently, she is also signed to OWL and is touted as being the one to take Urban Fiction to a whole new level. Her debut novel is entitled, The Last Kings.
Kay Renee, formerly known as “Keisha” Renee’, was introduced to glamberts as a background singer for Adam Lambert, performing with him on his worldwide “Trespassing and “We Are Glamily” tours. Kay Renee’, currently dedicated to the craft of background singing, has also sung background for jazz artist Jill Scott and appeared in two of her videos in 2011. Rapper Nicki Minaj featured Kay Renee’ on her hit single, “Freedom” in 2012. Kay toured with Nicki on her “Pink Friday Roman Reloaded World Tour” that same year. A former contestant on “American Idol,” in 2012 Kay Renee’ returned to AI, only this time to perform with world-renowned entertainer Adam Lambert. That year she also performed with him on “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Honing her already out-of-this-world vocal skills while further studying her craft, Kay Renee’ is preparing to take the world by storm as an entertainer in her own right. This Wednesday, October 16, as we listen to her music, she’ll talk with our own Thea about performing with these three icons in their fields, what lessons she’s learned on her journey to stardom and when and where we’ll see her next.

Bio- A former Lady Builder basketball standout who played two years of professional basketball, Keisha Pexton enters her seventh year as the Athletic Director at The Apprentice School. She is entering her third year as Manager Strategic Projects in addition to her role as Athletic Director.
Pexton worked for two years as an Electrical Planner on CVN 76 Ronald Reagan before becoming a Craft Instructor at the school for Production Planner Apprenticeship Program in 2005. She stayed with the Lady Builders as an assistant coach until the start of the 2005-06 season where she moved into the role of Academic Coordinator for both basketball teams. Her duties for the Apprentice School changed again in 2007 when she became a Craft Instructor for the Modeling and Simulation and Nuclear Test Technician Apprenticeship Programs and she was supervising three of the advanced programs until she took over as Athletic Director in March of 2008.
A native of Virginia Beach and a Salem High School graduate, Pexton earned her undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership and Management in May of 2004 from Regent University and her master’s degree in Human Resource Development at George Washington University in December of 2006. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Regent University.
Pexton has one son, Andrew (9).
