    Characterizing Jameis Winston's character

    in Sports

Mind of Mansion Podcast - Depth Perspective Episode 118: is anyone capable of judging another person's character?

Accurately measuring a person's character is an impossible task and would require a privacy violation to even attempt.

"Injury prone" and "character risk" are two prime examples of the generic, all-encompassing sports labeling system.

Why talking about players in a fantasy football context is different than a real life context.

Not factoring character concerns into a prospect evaluation could actually be a competitive advantage for an NFL team.

    WHEN ARE TERRORISTS, NOT TERRORISTS

    in Politics

We focus on drone technology, looking at the relationship between language and law. A range of speakers explain how the framing of the War On Terror has served the US military's purposes, and note that the US keeps details of its pretexts for state sponsored assassinations by drone as vague as possible. Plausible deniability is only needed if people are in a position where their actions are subject to informed questions. The core of this week's show is made up with a set of speeches from a 2015 meeting about the use of drone warfare, introduced by Bruce Gagnon and augmented by SAS whistleblower, Ben Griffin and a few classic words of Chris Hedges on how war affects its participants.
Credits: Thanks to Wilton Vought of Other Voices, Other Choices for uploading the audio from the Interfaith Conference On Drone Warfare to http://www.radio4all.net
Notes: We begin with a call by Bruce Gagnon in October 2014 to repurpose the US arms production capacity. After a musical break, we hear the start of Chris Hedges classic speech (from episode 227), followed by SAS whistleblower, Ben Griffin, commenting on the infamous Collateral Murder video leaked by Chelsea Manning.

    Intercepting Jameis Winston

    in Sports

Mind of Mansion Podcast Episode 117: Matt Kelley @fantasy_mansion believes Marcus Mariota is more similar to Dennis Dixon than Russell Wilson.

Marcus Mariota's archetype is the Cam Newton/RG3/Kaepernick/Dennis Dixon/Johnny Manziel: running quarterbacks who predominantly ran spread or package concepts.

Mariota is tantalizing, but he's a highly nebulus prospect, a known unknown.

Ultimate Marcus Mariota frankencomp: head/brain and personality of Russell Wilson, arm of Alex Smith, the body of Dennis Dixon, and the legs of Colin Kaepernick.

Jameis Winston's 18 interceptions in 2014 represents the singular stat that confirms all preconceived notions and negative bias about Jameis Winston.

What does a JaMarcus Russell comp actually mean?

Jay Cutler's 68.3 QBR compared to Jameis Winston's 89.4 QBR is the difference between collegiate mediocrity and collegiate excellence.

Jamies Winston's propensity to throw it to linebackers in the flat is inexplicable and real problem.

College interception totals do not necessarily translate into NFL interceptions.

According to Benjamin Allbright's proprietary Upside Meter, Jameis Winston has the least room to grow of any quarterback in this draft class.

Jameis Winston's 18 interceptions during his sophomore season do not encapsulate his ability, but they do remove Peyton Manning from his prospective range of outcomes.

Advanced metrics, prospect evaluations, and fantasy football information were provided by PlayerProfiler.com.
