Chuck Skull & Kat Vecchione once again take you from the Hollywood to the Hollyweird. Oh, and don't forget, ICE HOCKEY, AND THIS IS A NO WRESTLING, NO DRAMA, AND NO REALITY ZONE!!! Live chat and simulcasting with mixlr Radio, so call into the show!!! 646.478.5337
If you aren't already aware, Kat contributed a very personal touching story to the compilation book Beyond the Loss, Breaking the Stigma of Depression and Suicide which was recently released. So, I decided it would be great to have her back on the show as my guest to talk about the new book, life in general and how to keep moving forward when you'd really like to find a nice dark cave to crawl into and stay there. Or something like that.
As always thanks so much for listening!
At the Population Health Alliance Forum 2014 (@PHAvoice) annual gathering, my colleague and co-host Douglas Goldstein (@efuturist) caught up with the soft spoken, yet powerful voice of Esther Dyson, (@edyson) the founder and inspiration behind the Way To Wellville (@HICCup_co) initiative (@WayToWellville).
Esther is a force of nature advocating the proactive investment in health vs. renting it's return via costly often inaccessible and highly variant healthcare practices.

In May of 2010, Kat Downs (Good Natured Mortals/Sparrows Point/Saints of Ruin) and Mike Thompson (Big Nasty/Tokyo Raid/Cougar Kick) teamed up to experiment with the combination of classical piano and rock drumming. Typically described as “The Dresden Dolls mixed with King Crimson and Fiona Apple”, the music they create also reflects evidence of Zeppelin, Beethoven, Rush and Rachmaninoff. The combination of Kat Downs’ ornate hands and hair flying with Mike Thompson’s flawless percussive mastery makes this duo the consummate definition of a “dream-team”.
2014 unleashed the release of Sit Kitty Sit’s third studio album, “Everlasting Fire”. Based entirely on Dante’s “Inferno”, this storyline album showcases the extensive versatility of Downs and Thompson as a team. Spanning seven genres and boasting 15 guest artists, the release shows us an entirely new side of the band while maintaining their identity. The album has been receiving rave reviews since it’s release.
This year, Sit Kitty Sit was a featured performer at NAMM 2015 as guests of Killer Q Instrument Straps, whose presentation booth went on to win Best In Show. After teaming up with Sleepless Sounds Music Group in Los Angeles, CA to release a new 2015 single and continuing to tour the U.S., Sit Kitty Sit will take the leap over the pond in late October 2015 with their first ever European Tour. New music and tour dates are always in the works so keep your eyes and ears open in their direction.

Over the course of the past 3 decades Kat Marco has been rocking hard. The journey began in 1980 when her first song "Dear Friend' was written. Fueled with a devotion to Pat Benatar, the concept for the music was developed. The goal to write and perform original songs that spoke of spirituality and a positive outlook with the power of rock and heavy metal set the ground work as this project went forth. The Goddess Of Rock CD contains songs that were written from that time on. The earliest song written on the CD is 'Titanic' by Jon Maye in 1983. Kat Marco joined his New York group Toy's at that time and found a great songwriting mentor in Jon. While performing vocals in Toy's , Kat was able to sing at the famous Studio 54 in 1984, for the Penthouse Pet Of The Year Birthday Party. In 1985, Kat would go on to work with a super group as a vocalist called Ibex which was when she found out about her guitar favorite, Ynqwie Malmsteen. It was through her shred-guitarist Michael Mostert (who once had an audition for Kiss At the time Bruce Kulick joined the group, that she was mentored for power guitar playing though she would not start playing guitar until 1987.
