Do you have the Courage to Choose Connection?
Brene Brown defines Connection as “The energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
Today Jen Halterman is flying solo on Lighten Up with Jen and Cheri and she is diving right into the topic of Connection. By sifting through the layers of Courage that is required to Truly Connect Jen will be inviting you to explore where you connect, where you do not and where you pretend to; as well as the Choice required to Connect with Authenticity.
Join Jen as she opens up the topic for this week of shows on Lighten Up with Jen and Cheri!

Join me, Pastor Maria and the ministry Women of Courage; Warriors of God to discuss the strength of a warrior. We must not faint but stand together in this journey not just preparing for ourselves but preparing others.
We need to be a constant vigilant tending to the lost sheep bring them back home with words of assurance, comfort and encouragement. If you're a prayer warrior I expect your company. I want to share our testimonies, our struggles and our storms and also the strength out Heavenly Father has given us so that we can overcome all obstacles. Lets not sit idle and wait, but kneel in prayer for each other.
Matthew 28:18-20 18. And Jesus came to them saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. 20. "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age " Amen
Dorit Sasson of Giving Voice to Your Courage, interviews Bob Walicki, a Pittsburgh based poet and the curator of VERSIFY, a monthly reading series in Pittsburgh, on the role courage has taken him from challenging the traditional roles of what it means to be a sensitive man in a field that looks on his poetic sensitivity as a weakness.
His work has appeared in HEArt, Stone Highway Review, Uppagus, The Kentucky Review,Grasslimb, and on the radio show Prosody. He won 1st runner up in the 2013 Finishing Line Open Chapbook Competition and was awarded finalist in the 2013 Concrete Wolf Chapbook Competition. He currently has two chapbooks published: A Room Full of Trees (Red Bird Chapbooks, 2014) and The Almost Sound of Snow Falling (Night Ballet Press, 2015). He lives in Verona, PA with his wife, Lynne, and two cats.
Bob Walicki has worked for years in the construction industry and as a plumber. As a poet, he's been the target of prejudices because he didn't fit into those traditional roles. Often he has to hide being a poet in the building trades industry though he says, "recently it's been liberating to write about those experiences in my new chapbook, "The Almost Sound of Snow Falling."
We are very blessed to have the freedom of choices. We can chose careers, spouses, places to live, vehicles to drive etc....
We also chose how we react to situations and people. These reactions may be unconscious or from our ego but we still make them. Do we own that we make these choices? Do we realize that with each choice we may be creating a karmic debt or we may be releasing a karmic debt. Evolution of your soul is more complicated and more simple than we realize at times.
Lets discuss Karmic debts. How they are created, how to release them, and how our everyday choices contribute.
