Captain Charles Moore founded the Algalita Marine Research Institute in 1994 “to protect and restore the marine environment.” Captain Moore has become a world-renowned expert on the issue, as plastic debris should be seen as the No. 1 threat to the planet.
Moore won the 2014 Peter Benchley Ocean Awards “Hero of the Seas” award, among many others, and has been featured in major media forums including National Public Radio, Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, NBC, CBS, CNN, “The Late Show with David Letterman, The Colbert Report, ABC’s “Nightline” and “Good Morning America,” and The Wall Street Journal. Published in Marine Pollution Bulletin and Philosophical Transactions of The Royal Society. His book is Plastic Ocean. In June 2012, Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, Canada, bestowed on Captain Moore a well-earned Doctor of Laws Honoris Causa.

The Future West South Series resumes this weekend in Williams Lake BC and we will hear from Canadian National number 49 Brock Hoyer. Brock will be lined up in Williams Lake as well as the Nationals in Kamloops and is also hosting a Motocross school this Friday in Williams Lake
'Lockharts Locker' a new segment here featuring Ryan Lockhart to get the listeners up to speed on many things going on this country and beyond may or may not begin on tonights show. The Show will be headed up to Dawson Creek for the Peace Motocross associations race this weekend and we will hear from Reed Lepine of that club.

As well we will get up to speed on Ryan Lockhart' involvement at the top level in BC Motocross on the track and off. Ryan has been teaching Motocross schools at the local races and many are benefitting from Ryan's efforts. MX-101's Kevin Tyler will join us this week along with top Canadian rider Matt Davenport and one of our top tuners Donk' Scott Donkersgoed.

In this episode of the JRNYMN Conference Call with Sean Pronger, brought to you by JRNYMN Wear and C3 Development & Representation, former NHL goaltender Corey Hirsch joins Sean on the call to reminisce, talk hockey and discuss the upcoming C3 Hot Stove Lounge in Calgary on July 11th.
Selected by the New York Rangers in the 1991 NHL Draft, Corey would go on to play for 15 seasons in the NHL and other leagues before retiring in 2006 as a member of the Malmo Redhawks in Sweden. He was a Memorial Cup champion with the Kamloops Blazers, a silver medalist at the 1994 Olympic Games and won numerous awards in the AHL before earning the #1 spot in Vancouver's crease in 1995.
Since retiring, Corey has become one of the top goaltending coaches and teachers, hosting sold-out camps every summer and working with some of the elite prospects with Hockey Canada. At the NHL level, his accomplishments as a coach are second to none and once again, his goaltenders have numerous awards.
