    in Education

Most teachers, from elementary to college levels, are able to identify when students have difficulty learning, within the first weeks of a semester. However, employers and co-workers are not able or qualified to identify employees with Learning Disabilities unless the person is willing to ask for an accommodation. Guests will clarify how support, referrals, and accommodations can be provided more effectively. Our Special Guest, Dr. Beverly Poellnitz, Educator, Entrepreneur, along with other guests will enlighten us on how cultural considerations must be given when discussing any issue of learning, mental health, and performance. Host, Dr. Danita Applewhite shares current trends for employers, as well as teachers, that will help with ways to provide accommodations and stay legal with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Hear VET2VET conversations about how Student Veterans address asking for accommodations from Disabled Student Resources and Employee Assistance Programs. . Ask Dr. Applewhite About Disability and Productivity at School and Work

    in Education

When most people hear the term “DISABLED” do they perceive a productive employee?, a college graduate with honors?  business owner? ASK Dr. Applewhite about how we are helping others “change the perception of disabled to differently-abled” at White Apple Institute. There are too many people, including Veterans, assuming that they are unable to succeed at school and work because of their state of mind and/or body. Educators, Employers and Health Professionals join Dr. Danita Applewhite in discussing how to adapt to Chronic Pain, Emotional Stress, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression and other mood disorders . Special Guest Dr. Vernet Joseph, Author, Consultant in Productivity Training, and a Military Officer will discuss how he helps individuals to discover and develop their passions and produce success! Dr. Joseph shares how a person with mental disabilities and emotional challenges can achieve peak performance and develop as a transformational leader? Veterans join our VET2VET™ segment for news updates and commentary at the end of the show. This show is a re-broadcast aired on 4-5-2014 as “Becoming A Productive Student and Employee”.
