A Kind Voice On Music featuring Julia Green

    in Indie Music

Indie Rock artist, Julia Green, joins us for our next edition. Growing up in Pensacola, FL, Julia decided at a young age that she loved to sing and wanted to be in musicals. That passion led her to move to Texas to study musical theater at Sam Houston University. At the completion of her Houston stint, Julia moved back to Pensacola to save up for a move to New York. During this saving time, Julia started to learn the guitar and got into songwriting. Her passion for songwriter increased over her love of musical theater and led her to finally move to New York. Julia says "Making music is what I have to do with my time. Write cool new music, sing cool new music, and collaborate with cool new musicians. And hopefully, write something relevant and meaningful to people". She has launched a KickStarter campaign to help fund her upcoming EP. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/17725933/be-a-part-of-julias-first-ep?ref=nav_search

    STILL STANDING WITH JULIA TORRES

    in Books

    http://www.juliatorresstillstanding.com/

    Interview with Author Julia Torres

Julia from playground battles in New Jersey to Operation Desert Shield, from battling the effects of a date-rape drug to government-ordered BP pills silently waging war on her body. This is the explosive story of a young woman who never backs down, whether a decorated soldier bringing to light the cover-up of sexual harassment in the armed forces or later working as an undercover agent.

As a high school and college English/Theatre teacher for forty-seven years, I recommend this brave, jaw-dropping book that chronicles the experiences of a true hero for readers 14 to 94." ~ Sarah Rosenberg, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Open Hydrant Theatre Company, Bronx, New York

"In her memoir, Julia vividly and candidly invites us to share intimate moments which shaped her into the woman she is today, still standing. Her personal account of perseverance and triumph reminds us that our circumstances do not define us but rather molds us into the best version of ourselves."  ~ Patty Smith, LT COL, USA
