Join me on this special episode of Mom Talk with Denise LaRosa, as I have a mom talk with mom blogger and foster parenting advocate, Kelly Hughes.
Kelly is a happily married wife and mother of 2 biological children. Kelly and her husband are certified foster parents and have fostered 7 kids in 3 separate siblings groups. They are now in the process of adopting 2 of their foster children.
If all of that weren’t enough to keep her busy, Kelly is also the founder of The Pgh Momtourage, a community of Pittsburgh moms who love to connect with other moms (& dads), sharing in the experiences - and the craziness - of parenthood and enjoying our city together. As a foster parent, Kelly Hughes has watched 7 little ones show up at her door step with little or nothing. With often short notice of their arrival, it can become a scramble for foster parents to have basic clothing and necessities for the children. So she created the Foster Love Project to encourage donations of placement bags.
If you are a foster or adoptive parent, or have a desire to become a foster or adoptive parent, then I highly encourage you to open your heart and mind, and listen to Kelly share her joys, challenges and experiences with both.

Fat Guy in Spandex is a middle-aged, over educated, under employed, overweight, white guy who loves hockey, NASCAR and dumb-ass, quirky comedy. On his podcast, he pontificates about all things associated with a lazy life, sex, sports and much, much more.
Today’s episode looks at: a recent incident in which on of my favorite waitresses at The Gator said that I was 'puffy'. Is that a compliment? Was she being mean? I found it incredible hot and sexy that she would ridicule me about my weight and "full of crapness." Is she enabling my behavior?
Face it if you ever watched a T-Ball game or town soccer you know that these moments are great, funny, stressful and things your will talk about until grandchildren. From the parent who cant handle their kid striking out to the touchdown in the wrong endzone we will discuss the joys, the laughs and the WTF moments that happen to everyone. At the very least when we are done with you, you may rethink if you should coach or maybe put a piece of duct tape over your mouth.
Healing is in the midst of the person that commits to transform and change their health.
