Brian Knight on Journal Jabber!!
Happy Tuesday, all! Tonight we have a treat for you all. Brian Knight, author of The Conjuring Glass, will be with us talking about witches, some magic and other fun things. This YA book will have you mesmerized with the beautiful illustrations as well as encaptivated by the story.
When thirteen-year-old orphan Penny Sinclair moves to the small town of Dogwood to live with her godmother, she expects her life to become very dull. She doesn't expect to find a strange talking fox roaming the countryside near her new home, a kindred spirit in her new friend Zoe, or the secret grove where they discover the long hidden magic of The Phoenix Girls. Learning to use magic isn't easy, though; Penny and Zoe get their magic wrong almost as often as they get it right. When something sinister threatens Dogwood, their often accidental magic may be the only thing that can stop it.

Patrick Freivald on Journal Jabber!
AND... we are back. After a last-minute cancellation last week, we are back and running again. We are lucky to have Patrick Freivald,The author of Twice Shy and the upcoming Special Dead, on the show with us. Patrick is a special kind of guy - funny, talented and ready to talk about everything from books to beekeeping and robotics. This guy does it all.
Twice Shy is a zombie book like no other I have read. We have a teenage girl (not so uncommon), an overprotective mother (I can hang with this), and super secret experiments on a zombie teen (okay, now we are talking!). Teen-drama angst, zombie, hilarity, brain munchies, and prom are all wrapped up in this book. But seriously, this is not your run-of-the-mill YA book. It's not for those looking for a cheap romp through the romance park. This book has grit, viruses, labs/dungeons, and people being stolen from hospitals. All the good makings of a book you can't put down.
Be sure to not miss a single second!!
