About Pumkin Roll: Garrison, Colorado just hasn’t been the same since a newspaper article months ago cast Sadie in a less than positive light. The best distraction seems to be going to a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts to help baby-sit Pete Cunningham’s grandsons while their parents are out of town. Sadie is looking forward to spending her favorite baking season of the year making delicious New England recipes with her favorite leading man.
When Grandpa Pete’s three little grandsons tell them that Mrs. Wapple, the woman who lives across the street, is a witch, they are both eager to distract the boys from such Halloween-induced ideas. However, it gets harder and harder to explain the strange things that keep happening and eventually Sadie has no choice but seek the proof that while Mrs. Wapple might be crazy, she is not a witch. The investigation get complicated when Sadie finds Mrs. Wapple has been attacked in her home. Sadie immediately becomes a suspect and the unexplained occurrences escalate. Suddenly, the stakes get so high that Sadie must dig even deeper in order to get to the bottom of this before anyone else gets hurt.
Proving her innocence, however, quickly turns into saving herself from whoever—or whatever—seems intent on making this the last mystery Sadie Hoffmiller ever finds herself in the middle of.
