On tonight's episode of the Yanks Go Yard Radio Show, host and senior staff writer Ricky Keeler gives his takeaways from the New York Yankees' three game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Ricky will discuss the Yankees' chances to win the AL East, the offense's struggles against David Price on Monday, and the clutch hits by Carlos Beltran and Greg Bird in Tuesday night's extra innings win.
Then, Owen Schoenfeld from Southside Showdown will join the show to help look ahead to the Yankees' upcoming four game series at home against the Chicago White Sox. Owen will give his take on the White Sox disappointing season, Jose Abreu's strong sophomore year, should Robin Ventura still be the manager in 2016, and what is the team's biggest need heading into this winter? Hopefully the weak beginning of 2015 is finally over, now that we're nine months into the year. Yeah, it took a while, but now at least there seems to be solid blocks of decent boxing on.
There was that heavyweight clash on NBC between Deontay Wilder and Johann Duhaupas, and the fight between Juan Francisco Estrada and Hernan "Tyson" Marquez was fun, but this weekend looks more promising.
On HBO and live from the seemingly lucky StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., Mucas Matthysse and Viktor Postol square off in what could be a trickily good fight, while Antonio Orozco vs Humberto Soto opens up the telecast. Unfortunately, the Showtime broadcast on Saturday night will go head-to-head with HBO, featuring Adrien Broner vs Khabib Allakhverdiev. The co-featur, Jose Pedraza vs Edner Cherry, isn't much to write home about, unfortunately.
As always, hosting the show are James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Fight City's Patrick Connor. We're sorry.
