Danny Bryant is Walter Trout's protégé and while Walter is recovering from his successful Liver Transplant, Danny and Walter’s son Jon are out with the Walter Trout Band bringing the music to the fans. Colleen Rennison is 25 years old, but has the vocal abilities and stage presence of someone who has been at it much longer. Her debut solo album is entitled “See The Sky About To Rain” and it was produced, recorded and mixed by Couch Kid Steve Dawson, who also plays guitars on all the tracks. This is one special lady with a great debut album.
David Michael Miller began singing, like many, in church. The Buffalo, NY native is also the front man for Dive House Union who made the semi-finals in the IBC this year. David has released his solo album, “Poisons Sipped” and we will talk about his journey and where he is headed.
Finally, Couch Kid Anni Piper returns to talk about her current tour of North America. Remember Anni has been on twice before, once in December of 2012 and then in April of 2013, when “Split Second” her album with Nicole Hart came out; which was a direct result of both them being on that December episode of Music On The Couch.
“Musician You Should Know”
Jonathan Boone, global wildlife photographer and researcher, has studied the captive husbandry and propagation of geckos since 1979. His work began at the young age of 14, when he purchased his first geckos from a local pet store and attended monthly herpetological meetings at the Tulsa Zoo. His first geckos included leopard geckos and day geckos of the genus Phelsuma.
Since then, Jon's collection has expanded to include some of the rarest and most obscure geckos in the world. He has travelled globally, with field research emphasis in Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and northern and southern Africa. In addition to his extensive field research, Jon has published numerous articles in popular herpetological journals. He has also assisted other authors by sharing findings as well as photographs from his husbandry experience and field research.
Exploring new possibilities, Jon has pioneered several practices in gecko husbandry, including innovative cage design, nutrition and mimicking seasonal rhythms. To educate and inspire others with interest in reptiles, Jon has spoken at as well as coordinated herpetological conferences. Jon has been the first to successfully breed over 200 species of gecko, and has collectively bred close to 500 gecko species. Among his other major advances was his discovery that Colopus kochii eggs can take almost 2 years to hatch.
In his efforts to further scientific research, Jon has provided nearly two thousand specimen samples to scientists, taxonomists and systematicists around the world. These specimen samples have been used to create documentation on new species, to update documentation on existing species, and to provide new localities and distinguishing characteristics between gecko species. Join us on GNR as we speak with Jon about how he lives the gecko dream.

According to boxing legend George Forman, “I get up in the morning looking for an adventure.” The same can be said about Calvin Schwartz. These days Cal divides his time between more activities than most of us -- Senior Writer NJ -The Shore Thing, novelist (Vichy Water), blogger, music journalist, biographer, and explorer of all things New Jersey. This Rutgers grad and former pharmacist has finally found his niche in journalism, and he’s using his writing skills and quest for knowledge to embark on a series of grand adventures. Just check out Cal on Facebook, and you’ll be apprised of his daily adventures. One day he’s at Grounds for Sculpture admiring Marilyn Monroe’s long legs, another day he’s hanging out with Comedian Mike Marino and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Vini Lopez at Warlock Drums. He recently had the honor of interviewing Princess Elettra Marconi Giovannelli, daughter the inventor of radio. To say Cal’s interests and pursuits are varied, is an understatement. This adventurer has auditioned for The Apprentice at age 60, examined paranormal activities, met more NJ musicians than most, advocated for the homeless, and has cultivated a strong spiritual side. But there is one Asbury Park experience Cal hasn’t had, and he’s going to share that with me this weekend. Curious? Thought so! Somehow with all this, Cal is developing a new web site which will be “the embodiment of what he’s done for the past 30 years.” After the interview, check out After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.
