On June 14, 2014, Canadian eventer Jordan McDonald suffered a fatal injury while competing at the Nunney International Horse Trials held at Southfield House, Whatley, Frome, Somerset, GBR.
This tragic loss inspired Jordan’s sister, Shannon, who performs as Shanna Lynn in the country music duo known as Georgia Rain, with Damian Marshall (her husband), to record a rendition of his favourite song.
A self-taught guitarist, Jordan loved “The Boxer” by Simon and Garfunkel. Shanna Lynn fondly recalls the times he would play it and ask her to sing along. She didn’t know the words then, but she is pleased to sing it for him now. “This was the hardest recording we have ever done. [It] tugs at the heart strings…very bittersweet for me,” said Shanna Lynn, “but I know he’s listening.”
The song is now available on itunes. Proceeds will go towards keeping Jordan’s dreams and goals alive through his wife, Shandiss, and their horses.

Tune in to hear Shannon & Damian remember Jordan in stories and song.

See Hear Yoko captures the rich complexity of Yoko Ono—woman, artist, activist, wife and mother—from her days with John Lennon through the present, with intimate portraits by the legendary rock-and-roll photographer Bob Gruen, and words by Ono herself, edited from conversations with Jody Denberg, rock radio’s “Voice of Austin, Texas.”
Conceived expressly for Yoko Ono as a gift between friends on the occasion of her eightieth birthday, and published at her personal request, See Hear Yoko is legendary rock-and-roll photographer Bob Gruen’s tribute to an icon of contemporary American cultural history, from her days with John Lennon up through the present. Gruen, who served as personal photographer to Lennon and Ono during their years in New York City, has collaborated with his friend, Austin rock radio mainstay Jody Denberg, who edited twenty-five years of interviews with Yoko for the book’s text.
In this breathtaking volume, Gruen has selected more than two-hundred classic color and black-and-white photographs that intimately illuminate the life of Yoko Ono at the height of her fame as a woman, wife, mother and avant-garde artist (who keeps creating, she says, because “That’s who I am.”) Yoko’s role as peace activist and artist underscores the enduring legacy of the era of rock-and-roll. See Hear Yoko reveals a modern woman in love, in ascension, in grief, in joy and in peace.
Lavish and beautiful, mirroring the deeply personal design of the original volume given to Yoko herself, See Hear Yoko brings into focus an extraordinary woman and one of the most memorable periods in modern history.

This Grammy-winning superstar knows a thing or two about life, love and balance. “I’ve always been a grounded person. Being an artist is different than being a celebrity. Having a life that you’re comfortable with when you go to sleep at night is incredibly important to me.” Always a fashion-forward visionary and trendsetter, Jody brings an empowering message to BOLD, offering can’t-miss advice on how to create your own sanctuary at home. “It’s not about going to Maui. It starts right where you are.” Despite her massive success and stream of monster hits (“Looking for a New Love,” “Still a Thrill,” “Real Love,” “Friends”), Jody–like everyone else–has had her ups and downs. “I pour a lot of myself into the music. When I left the group Shalamar for a solo career, people said I wouldn’t make it. Winning the Grammy for Best New Artist was like being rewarded by God and the universe for stepping out on faith.” Available on iTunes, her latest album “Paradise” features retro funk and recalls the disco and soul records that inspired her iconic musical style. “It takes the soul and spirit of those classic sounds and blends them together with electronica.” Jody’s official website is www.jodywatley.net. WHAT DOES THE LOVING GOD HAVE TO DO WITH IT?
If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). God has gotten His love to us, through His son Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Now He wants to get His love through us, by our obedience to His commandments. Love has everything to do with it! God is love (1John 4:8) and he wants His love to be reflected in his sons and daughters. God’s love is based on forgiveness. This is why He tells us to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44). We are forgiving the pain and the suffering caused by them. God went through that pain and suffering so that now we can forgive without reasoning. We are to let go of the pain and suffering. Jesus shed His blood on the cross covering the burdens of our sins. We have been forgiven so that we can grow and all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Replace the pain of suffering with love and forgiveness. Allow yourself to be free and grow. God has commandment to us to rejoice evermore (Thessalonians 5:16). Know that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and God is the strength that you need to let go, q forgive and love.
