Join us this week as we welcome country music singer songwriter, Jimmy Parker. Originally from Virginia, After serving in the Military and then moving around the east coast for several years playing music, Jimmy moved to Nashville in 1990. In August, 2012, Steven B. Riley and CMG Nashville signed Jimmy to a record contract and have started promoting him worldwide on the internet and on radio. His first major release with CMG was a song called, "Thought I'd Be Home By Now." (ICoMA 2013 Video of the Year Award Winner). Jimmy Parker is the Real Deal when it comes to singing ‘nothing but pure country music.’ His music is a combination of some of the great covers from the past and some great original songs written by him and other writers that have allowed Jimmy to record his songs. With five cds (four of which are available now) to his credit since 2004 and over 50 songs recorded to this time span, what one will find with Jimmy’s music is honest to goodness down-to-earth country music. We will talk to Jimmy about his upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at his music, feature his latest songs, and ask him to share his message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Jimmy Parker at http://www.jimmyparkermusic.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with with Jimmy during the show (718) 766-4193. Hicks (Miqael Persson) is also an accomplished songwriter with most of his live material being written by himself and other co-writers. Whilst in Nashville he was able to co-write with top songwriters Anthony Smith, Dallas Rogers, Dennis Morgan and Sharon Vaughn. He met with his USA publisher and learned that a song he wrote ‘Cuts Like A Diamond’ on his last USA visit was picked up by the Little River Band. Not only did they record it, but used the title of their new album to be released in August when they start a nationwide tour of the USA to promote it. Other artists such as Jimi Jamison (Survivor) Giant (Dann Huff) Bobby Kimball (Toto) W.E.T (Featuring Jeff Scott Soto) Grammy nominated Toby Hitchcock and many more have recorded his songs...
Born in the southern part of Sweden (Helsingborg) Miqael grew up with a dream of making a living on his music. Playing in local bands he wrote music, toured and learned the chops as an artist and songwriter. He soon moved to Stockholm to pursuit his dream of being a songwriter. His first cut with an other artist was the Swedish band Barbados that cut one of his country songs. The album went Gold and the band got a Grammy for Best Album. Pretty good start as a songwriter. Since then he has picked up more Gold and Platinum albums.
