    Jill Rowe - Mobility Consultant

    in Lifestyle

Jill Rowe has been a Mobility Consultant with AMS Vans since 2007, and she has given hundreds of boomers and people with disabilities the opportunity for greater independence with a reliable way to get from point A to point B. Kip Crum, the owner of AMS Vans in Atlanta, GA, established his company in 1999 to sell (and rent) wheelchair vans with an Internet-based business model and an innovative conversion design that keep their prices far lower than local dealerships and other online handicap van dealers. The company has been in business since 1999, and AMS Vans is an established leader in the industry.
For seniors and people with disabilities who have spent thousands on medical expenses, purchasing a wheelchair-accessible van is often financially out of reach. The owner’s mission in starting the business was to make a handicap van affordable for everyone who needs accessible transportation. He partnered with a van conversion company with innovative modification designs that offer the same, if not greater, safety and reliability of other conversion manufacturers at a lower price. The proximity of the AMS Vans dealership and showroom to our manufacturer is close enough to eliminate a shipping fee, which adds to the price of vans at other dealerships, and we’re able to eliminate the high dealer margin most companies add to the conversion price, lowering our prices even further.

Jill Morley from "Fight Like a Girl"

    in Sports

Documentry filmmaker Jill Morley documented her journey into boxing and tells stories of the many female pugilists she encounters along the way in the award winning documentry "Fight Like a Girl".

Morley’s story of abuse and depression is the main focus of the movie, which proves fighting is not only a physical game but a mental one as well. Each fighter including Morely must not only fight opponents and fatigue; they also must overcome doubt, heartbreak, and past traumas.

Among them, a boxer looking to snap a losing streak (Kim Tomes), one on the rise in the sport but fighting ageism (Susan Merlucci), and an undefeated pro recovering from mental stumbling blocks as she seeks gold (Maureen Shea).

We will talk to Morley about the film, and the reaction she has been getting from fans and fellow boxers.

How to Write Your Best Book – Fast!

My Guest this Tuesday is Mindy Gibbins-Klein. Writing a book has become very popular.  For experts, speakers and business leaders, it is almost de rigueur, a requirement to get in the game.  So now what?  What differentiates the good books from the bad?  Or, more crucially, the great books from those that are ‘just good’?

Leading book coach Mindy Gibbins-Klein will be answering that question, and much more.  Over the past 12 years, Mindy and her team have helped over one thousand people write and publish great books.  Their best books.  And those are the books that are part of something exciting.  If you have ever thought about writing your own book but didn’t know where to start, or if you could do it at all, this session is for you!

                       “Rethinking Unpopular!”

My guest this Tuesday is Erika Napoletano. While Forbes encourages folks to think of Erika as “a redheaded, tattooed Tina Fey with a special weakness for four letter words,” it’s not all funny business. Erika is also an award-winning, twice-published author, including The Power of Unpopular (Wiley 2012), a current columnist for American Express  OPEN Forum and former columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine, an acclaimed speaker from TEDxBoulder 2012, and speaks at events all over the world on the inherent power of truth in business… or as she refers to it, the power of unpopularity.

She’s taller than a taco but shorter than a supermodel. That’s probably not important. Erika lives to help others create the next better thing — themselves, a business — whatever it is that they crave to evolve. We all get stuck. Erika gets people UNstuck and on to the business of being awesome!
