The 2014 Jersey City fashion week was a tremendous success, we take you behind the scenes today on the Jeff Foxx radio show online.
This week we sat down with Kenny Katzgrau from Broadstreet Ads to talk about some of the latest news in online advertising.
In his most recent blog post, Kenny discussed some of the shortcomings of standard banner ads, especially when it comes to smaller, indie publishers who find themselves in competition with larger publishers.
Kenny worked on Yahoo's Right Media Exchange prior to co-founding Broadstreet with John Crepezzi in March 2012. The Broadstreet team consisted of John Ward of Red Bank Green, Kenny Katzgrau who had recently left Yahoo, and John Crepezzi, formerly of Patch. They set out to build a powerful set of tools for the independent and modern digital news publisher − tools that could be used to network and build a more expansive business than previously possible.
For those of you who missed the live broadcast or didn't get to ask your question, please continue the discussion in the comments section of the post on the NJ News Commons homepage!
Worried about the legal trouble you could get into as a small publisher? Questions about libel or libel insurance? Is it okay to use postings from private Facebook groups in a news story?
Not to worry!
The Center for Cooperative Media will be hosting a live broadcast call-in show on Thursday. Our guest will be Professor Ellen Goodman of the Rutgers University Law School in Camden. She will be discussing her upcoming FAQ project at Rutgers and answering some of your questions on libel insurance, privacy, and other journalism-related legal issues.
It's important to remember that Professor Goodman will not be offering any actual legal advice. She will only be answering hypotheticals questions in the abstract, or on the basis of general legal principles.
Notes for the next president. We'll be talking about issues ignored for too long. We'll also talk about the pipe dream of free college and why it shouldn't be a pipe dream. We'll also talk a bit about the plans for the additional weekly program. Our politics are progressive but some of the issues we'll discuss might sound conservative. Tune in, call in, turn on, but don't you dare drop out (or go away mad!).
