    Climate Action with Russell Greene

    in Politics Progressive

Russell welcomes guests R.L. Miller and Lance Simmens to discuss last Tuesday’s election results and what they mean for the climate movement.

RL Miller blogs on climate; founded SuperPAC Climate Hawks Vote to elect - and hold accountable - politicians who prioritize the climate challenge; is elected chair of California Democratic Party’s Environmental Caucus; and practices law and keeps chickens. Climate Hawks Vote hatched in June 2014, made 17 endorsements in primaries and general election races in 2014, and won at least 10 - a very positive record made possible through its emphasis on fieldwork rather than big-spending ads

Lance Simmens has spent nearly four decades involved in the arenas of politics government, public policy, and public interest advocacy.   He has served in senior level positions in two Presidential administrations, for two US Senators, the US Senate Budget Committee, two Governors, and the US Conference of Mayors.  He has an insider’s view of the way the system works and a unique understanding of the interactions between Federal, state and local government.   For the last two decades he has been intimately involved in environmental issues beginning with his role in helping to establish the Federal Government’s first Office of Sustainable Development during the Clinton Administration.
