Tune in and join me as I welcome this week's guest.
Author Jeffrey Stayton joins me this week to talk about his novel: This Side of the River
Told from multiple narrators, this gritty tale takes place in the summer of 1865 after the Confederacy has collapsed. A contingent of young Civil War widows who have survived General Sherman's March to the Sea rally around a teenage, Christ-haunted Texas Ranger named Cat Harvey to travel to Ohio to burn down Sherman's home. This compelling tale explores themes of trauma, revenge, redemption, and the disorder known then as nostalgia or soldier's heart. Author Corey Mesler proclaimd This Side of the River yarn-spinning of the highest order. Stayton's narrative, which gives Confederate soldiers body servants a voice that few Civil War stories do, will burn bright long after you ve put the book down.

Almost every Sunday, is the day to relax. While you are recovering from Saturday, you are not looking forward to Monday. Sunday is your only day to vent and unwind. However, there are many people who do not know how to do that and they do not know how to relieve their stress and depression levels. The message I attempt to deliver is how to unwind, how to not let the stress and depression get to you.

Jeffrey Lin was born with a cruel, hyperactive immune disease with no cure. Literally everything in the world is toxic. There are no safe foods to eat and he constantly struggles to breathe. Every moment the world tears him apart inside and out by intense itching, infections, and swelling. Even his tendons and ligaments react uncontrollably, causing his physiology to be continually twisted.
For 10-years he couldn’t touch water. He’s battered by every weather change. The attacks never eased over 26-years to allow sleep. He has experienced countless mental and emotional problems as well due to unrelenting stress, chronic sleep deprivation, malnutrition, PTSD, and medication side effects.
Despite a world of opposition, he holds a B.S. in Engineering & B.A. in Mathematical Economics from the #1 engineering college, Harvey Mudd. He’s a self-taught stock trader, entrepreneur, video producer, and digital media consultant for Wall St. and Hollywood.
