Layla Book Review with Author Jeannie Kerrigan
Author Jeannie Kerrigan pulled the story of Layla from the marrow of her bones and the structure of her cells. It is the true life story of her journey through physical and sexual abuse, rape, abduction, drug addiction, stripping, prostitution, death and more death, and it is an account of the human journey between dualities-light and dark, broken and whole, hell and heaven, fear and absolute love.

World Kitchen Presents Wedding Day Radio: Jeannie Uyanik
“If you’ve recently gotten engaged, the first thing you should do is sit down and think about your guest list,” says Wedding Planning Radio host Jeannie Uyanik. “Because it sets the tone for two things: how much space you need, and how much money you need to pay for all of those guests. Whenever I talk to couples, I always ask, ‘How many people on your guest list? And they always say something like, ‘We think it’s about 200.’ But most of the time, it’s actually about 300.”

JEANNIE DAVIDE-RIVERA - NAKED in the STREETS; Autism
Alone. Jeannie spent most of her 38 years - alone - in her mind. Her insensitivity to others’ thoughts, feelings, and actions kept her from making meaningful emotional connections. Her sensory system reacted badly to what was ‘normal” to others. At school the sounds and sights that others found helpful in learning were to Jeannie, chaotic and confusing. Being sent out to sit in the hall was a relief to her and she could read and do her schoolwork in peace. She had taught herself to read at age 4 and was reading at 12th grade by 5th grade. Her hyper-memory made it easy for her to be an “A” student in any type of academic setting. She managed to get through junior high despite her hypo sensitivity to others, but her high school days were spent anywhere except in school. She probably went a to class a total of one year. Yet at 17 she passed the GED, missing only 3 questions and made 1400 on the SAT. Like many who are seen as “different” she followed her own path without regard what others thought. She was attractive so she used men as well as they used her. She pursued her husband and he deserves a medal because beside her Autism, they have 3 sons with varying degrees of it. They together read widely and “discovered” her autism as well as the problems of our medical system.Such as: problems of inattention (not listening to patients) of health professionals ;tendency to jump to quick conclusions based on inadequate information (misdiagnosis); prescribe treatments and drugs that often don’t work or make the patient worse (patients’ and drug companies’ pressure on doctors. This is a book that could be life changing for anyone with any medical condition and for all of us who will face some or be the caregivers of those afflicted.

Offiiciant Series continues with Rev Gary Deinstadt!
The Wedding Jeannie’s Spring Officiant Series Continues with Interfaith Minister, Reverend Gary Deinstadt!
This week we chat with another incredible interfaith officiant, who happens to also be an Emmy award-winner with an extremely decorated music career. Rev. Gary Deinstadt found his calling from the young age of 13, and since then he remained in the ministry, and went on to become an ordained, seminary-trained minister. He brings a unique perspective to his couples because he merges his love and understanding of music composition with his desire to create a loving, open, and caring atmosphere for his couples.
All of his work is highly personal; it is important to him that each couple’s love be reflected in a unique way. He’s performed all types of ceremonies, from non-religious to interfaith, vow renewals, weddings, and everything in between! He will tell us all about his work, some of his most memorable ceremonies, tips for couples looking to hire officiants, and much, much more!
Join Jeannie Uyanik live at noon on Wednesday, May 22 for another show you won’t want to miss!
