    in Politics Conservative

Hosted by dark-skinned free-thinker Vincent E Brown, this show discusses a myriad of issues from the political, moral, and religious. Of course, every now and then a bit of controversy is liable to show up at any time, so tune in and listen to a host who is black, Christian, and conservative.

Today, I will talk about some idiotic comments made by liberal comedienne extraordinaire, Rosie O'Donnel and the situation brewing in Ferguson, MO concerning the Mike Brown incident.

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Author Gary Rodriguez will be my guest on Sunday, Dec. 14th. We'll be chatting about his new book, Escape Through the Wilderness.

    About the book:

Escape Through The Wilderness is a timely reminder that children's adventure stories remain ever popular and this is one that deserves to grab the spotlight. A full on attention grabber from the start, Rodriguez spins his debut in endearing prose, his plot exciting, inventive and wholly convincing in its implementation, with plenty of unpredicted twists and turns along the way. Undeniably, a story about friendship, his young protagonists are ably observed with well-crafted personas which allow room for growth as their peril evolves. It’s a splendid telling that will certainly engage the imaginations of his young readers. There’s suspense, plenty of tension and gratifyingly dark overtures which children will lap up, but it never feels rushed with every chapter leaving the reader hungry for more. On cursory reflection it is simply a cracking story, but the thematic undertones reflect the loss of innocence and the fundamental issue of survival which would be invaluable for parent-child discussion.

    About the author:

My name is Gary Rodriguez, and I live in California. I'm the president of LeaderMetrix Inc., a consulting company that specializes in senior-level executive coaching, organizational development, and conflict resolution.
Previously, I worked for eighteen years in the radio business as an executive where I spent several years as one of the original managers of Infinity Broadcasting.

My guest on Saturday Dec. 13th is author Mark Smith. I'll be chatting with him about the book he co-wrote with his wife, Brenda, One Last Hurrah: A Story of Making Peace and Making a Difference.

    About the book:

I write this book to share my life story with whoever wants to learn that, from the most meager beginnings wrecked with abuse and negativity, a human being can emerge as a whole person who has much to give to the world around him.
Follow me as I take you through my life from a troubled childhood, through the world of professional wrestling, to youth ministry and foster parent. It is here that I have found the most rewarding life: sharing

    About the author:

I was born the youngest of five to a mother and father that fought every day that I can remember.  My father had an explosive temper and it was nothing for him to violently beat us and throw tools at us while at our family-owned gas station.  I slept with a baseball bat every night.  All through the house, you could find fist wholes behind pictures on the wall and in doors.  When my parents divorced after 30 tortuous years, I was then subjected to a step-father who had a drug problem; taking over 20 Percodan’s a day.

Meet author Alan Noble. Alan will be chatting with me today about his book, Climbing for Roots: Christian Foundations for Young Believers.

    About the book:

Sin, that diabolical disease of the spirit, has infected the entire human race! What is it? Essentially it is missing the mark. Mankind has been missing the mark since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. After that, everything went south. God’s perfect creation was in need of repair.

But because of His great love He sent His Son, Jesus, to make things the way they were supposed to be. The same immeasurable power that created the universe gave all of mankind an ability to be in God’s fellowship because of what Jesus did for us.

Climbing for Roots will explain fully the sin that so completely corrupted creation, and the plan of God for our salvation. We learn that Jesus is not only our Savior, but is also the Lord of our lives. What does that mean? That obedience will never earn us God’s love but it will always produce blessing. We learn that our salvation is secure, but we must strive for obedience because we are created to do good works.

    About the author:

Alan R. Noble is a born-again Christian, schooled in the Word since childhood. Mr. Noble was educated at William Paterson University, a liberal arts institute in Northern New Jersey, and received a B.A. in education, with a certificate to teach elementary school. Later, he received an M.A. in Communication Arts, and a certificate in supervision. He worked as an educator for 31 years. Alan and his wife, Kathy, reside in Kansas City, MO.

The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Meet author Jim Greene. Jim will be joining me tomorrow on the show to discuss his book series, Unlocking Spiritual Greatness.

    About the book:

Just like there are specific physical exercises that are good for physical conditioning, there are specific spiritual exercises that are good, in fact, essential for our spiritual conditioning and growth. If you want to grow spiritually, you have to do spiritual exercises. (1Timothy 4:8)

This book looks to Jesus for “duplicate-able” activities for the model for our growth. For years Christian writers have identified specific activities regularly evidenced in his earthly life and called them Spiritual or Christian Disciplines. I believe that if it was useful for Jesus to be disciplined in his worship and praise to God, then it is useful for us as well. Further, I believe that the inclusion of Christian Disciplines in our lives, or what I call the Disciplined Training Approach places us in obedient submission to God and that is where we are supposed to be.

    About the author:

Jim Greene makes his home in Knoxville, TN in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. An avid backpacker, his countless hours in the outdoors have often blessed him with many topics to write about. As a layman Sunday School teacher, he challenges himself and his class to strive for and enjoy a closer relationship with God. Each of his books look to God as the ultimate authority in our lives. Jim feels God speaks to him personally through journaling and his books primarily came to answer a question in his life. They may just help you too.?

Meet author Joan C. Curtis. She'll be chatting with me about her book, The Clock Strikes Midnight. This is Joan's first appearance on the Author Chat Show.

    About the book:

Janie Knox wants nothing more than to live her life quietly in Savannah, Georgia and never return to her hometown of Atlanta. At age 17, a week after a jury convicted her stepfatherof killing her mother, she packed all her worldly possessions in a single duffle bag, hopped on a bus, and vowed never to return. But, when she learns that she's got three months to live, she journeys back home to finish what she couldn't do when she left--kill her stepfather.
As the clock ticks away, Janie's uses the last days of her life to right the wrongs that have haunted her for 20 years. She faces more than she bargained for when she discovers her sister's life in shambles. Meanwhile her stepfather, recently released from prison, blackmails the sisters and plots to extract millions from the state in retribution.
The Clock Strikes Midnight is a race against time in a quest for revenge and atonement. This is a story about unleashing the hidden truths that haunt a quiet Southern family.

    About the author:

Joan has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember. She reads all kinds of books, including women's fiction, mysteries, biography, and nonfiction related to her work. She does not read fantasy, horror or romance. Her passion as a reader lies closer to literary writing with a commercial bent. Her debut novel, The Clock Strikes Midnight, is scheduled for release in the Fall 2014. This mystery/suspense book is exactly the kind of book Joan loves to read.
