This week on CWCW we will discuss the character traits of the ideal man and the ideal woman. Today it seems as though dating is like a job. With so many internet dating sites up and running and all of the back and forth between men and women we need to get to the bottom line of what we want in each other to have a successful nurturing relationship. We will also be speaking with special guest recording artist Javon who has a new album coming out. We will get to know Javon and listen to a few tracks off his album. He also did a song "Caramel Sky" for the soundtrack to Reunited the independent film from Priscilla A Productions. Tune in, log in, and join in Thursday May 9th @ 8pm.
Many people struggle or have bouts with suicide, including Christians. But what is the root cause of such thinking? Some people believe suicide is the only hope for those who've lost hope. For others it's a way to relieve themselves of the misery and pain that they're going through. But does suicide REALLY solve the problem?
Join us TONIGHT for this very sensitive and important discussion as we candidly address the issue most Christians don't want to talk about.....Suicide.
If YOU, a friend or loved one has attempted to commit suicide or have/are contemplating doing so, then this show is for YOU!
Call 858.365.5507 to listen LIVE or to ask questions or make a comment.
God used Christ's death to serve as the sacrifice for the sins of all who would believe. Between 1999 and 2010, suicides in the 35-to-64 age group increased 28.4%. The suicide rate for women jumped 81.4%; for men it was a 59.5% increase. Is suicide an unforgivable sin? Sometimes in a long marriage, or any lasting relationship, we stop listening to each other. Perhaps we even stop talking which, of course, prevents listening, if no one is talking! Dr. Joan addresses methods for getting the conversation going again.
Whether you are experiencing relationship breakdowns at home, at work, or at play, tune in to hear Dr. Joan describe alternative solutions. Follow Dr. Joan as she guides you toward keys for harmony.
A portion of each program is devoted to the reading of Dr. Joan's published stories about human disputes. She is currently reading from her first novel Gra Im Thu! I Love You! The story is about two Irish families who find themselves intermarrying, even though they are poles apart in the areas of religion and politics. Tune in and listen to the story, as the O'Grady and Gwynn families learn to solve their potato encounters and develop a sure-fire method for making delicious mashed potatoes together. Find out how diversity and harmony can live in the same house!
Real Sister's Minstrel & Muse welcomes Zen Buddhist Priest and author Karen Maezen Miller to the show to talk about her books Hand Wash Cold & Momma Zen: Walking the Crooked Path of Motherhood.
Maezen is not what you think about when you think Buddhist Priest, unless what you think about is a woman who struggles with anger, frustration, and all the normal things mere mortals do. But then again, Maezen is a mere mortal, and that is what gives her philosophy so much power--it speaks to all of us on our individual journies.
Her books are funny, honest and, in the end, inspiring. Join us for a conversation with the amazing Karen Maezen Miller.
