EL AGUA RECURSO VITAL
Maneras de utilizar bien el agua en casa.
El agua es imprescindible para la vida. La necesitan tanto los animales y plantas silvestres como la agricultura, la ganadería, la industria o la producción de energía. El agua es necesaria para los seres vivos, sin ella nuestro planeta no tendría vida. Para nosotros es muy importante, constituye el 70% de nuestro cuerpo y la utilizamos todos los días, durante toda nuestra vida. A pesar de que podemos vivir con sólo 5 litros o menos de agua al día, generalmente necesitamos mucha más agua para conservarnos saludables, unos 50 litros o más para satisfacer las necesidades personales y del hogar. Pero en los países desarrollados se gasta mucho más: un promedio de 400 a 500 litros por persona diariamente, cantidades que en muchas ocasiones no es exagerado calificarlas como un lujo que nos resulta....

We'll ttalk with Matt Silverman, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for River Trails School District 26 in Mount Prospect. Matt will tell us about the district’s new “Green” initiative: the Garden of Dreams or El Jardin De Los Suenos.
This community and school garden is at Euclid School in Mount Prospect. Students from Euclid, Indian Grove and River Trails Middle School will be involved in working the garden.
We’ll also talk to Kendra Paraskevopoulos and Melissa Clark from Heartland Alliance, a Midwest-based anti-poverty organization created in 1888. Its goal is to help nearly one million people around the world who are homeless, living in poverty, or seeking safety.
