Do you have a dream or a talent that you want to pursue, but everything seems to prevent it? Maybe you should take a second look at your dreams or your talents steps towards them even if they be baby ones!
Trailer for: Billy Elliot (2000)
Sometimes people make assumptions about us based on our interests, talents, or dreams. People say things like "Who would ever want to do...." or "Only ______ people do that" which are judgmental and have nothing to do with the truth. Only you can speak and decide your truth or life's outcome. Take charge of the dreams and talents given to you, because you alone can and will manifest them, are responsible for them.
Join me for a discussion about pursuing your dreams and filling the hole you may feel in your heart if you aren't pursuing them.

Remember Antonio Bay of the coast of Oregon? How about Stevie Wayne from KAB radio? Remember the first time you actually realized The Fog could actually be creepy, frightening and fatal? Thanks to the Brilliance of John Carpenter and Debra Hill you just may not look Fog the same. The first time I saw it in the theaters, my friend and I exited the theater only to find a heavy fog had settled into South King County, Washington where I attended high school. When she dropped me off as we were saying our goodbyes outside halfway between her car and my front door we heard a strange noise from something hidden in "pea soup" fog that night. We grabbed each other as if embracing could somehow protect us. In later years we laughed about it, but it sure went a long way to the mystic and ambiance of the movie that night.
Join the discussion about the things that go bump in the fog and why simple weather events can instill so much fear. John Carpenter was a master at creating fearful tension with every day situations, but there are also relationship issues in the film that will be fun to discuss as well. See you there on Philmchology just beware!
As we get rolling with our new Radio Neteork, Philmchology comes back on the air Saturdays starting October 11th at 7 PM Pacific time/ 8 PM Mountain Time/ 9 PM Central/ 10 PM Eastern. This month we will be looking at one of the horror movie great directors John Carpenter. Since we're only going to have a few weeks in October we'll stretch it on into November a few weeks as well to make sure to include his apocolypse trilogy. For now let's take a look at the most well known movie by the horror master himself and Debra Hill (God rest her soul): Halloween (Click on word for trailer)
Halloween changed our thoughts on horror when John Carpenter illuminated the fun, scary, then terrifying aspects of being a teenager on the scariest night of the year! Most of us can remember our first memories of Halloween. The excitement of dressing up with very simple costumes and the creepy plastic masks that left wet condensation on your face when you tried to breathe. Walking at night in the streets seeing friends from school was like a gigantic block party without all the parents (most of us has older siblings to take us about or they went with someone esle's older siblings) Halloween belonged to us kids and you had one objetive to get as many treats as you could carry. I would say candy, but back in the mid to late 1960's people still gave fruit, homemade popcorn balls, cookies, fudge etc. It used to be a night just as fun for the people giving out the treats as us who were receving them. John Carpenter and Debra Hill started a movement that reminded us horror doesn't have to take place in outter space it can be just as dangerous at home! Bring your po, punch & Join us!
