Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk who stopped issuing all marriage licenses in the days after the SCOTUS opinion citing her religious beliefs as her reason for not issuing them to same-sex couples, is now in jail. Held on contempt of court charges she remains firm on her stand that she cannot issue marriage licenses based on her Christian beliefs. A fire storm is now rising as Christians move to support her and Gay Right's Activist rally to claim victory and silence those who would oppose the unconstitutional actions of the court in this matter. I'll be joined by Dr. Sharon Schuetz and we will be discussing the matter from a Constitutional viewpoint and a faith-based viewpoint.
TONIGHT 9P we discuss Sandra Bland, an African- American woman who was found hanged in a jail cell in Wallrer County, Texas, on July 13, 2015. Her death was classified as a suicide by police and the county coroner, and was followed by protests against her arrest, disputing the cause of death and alleging racial violence against her. Bland was 28 years old when she died. The issue of police violence is a serious issue in America and must remain a major topic of discussion.
Bland had been pulled over for a minor traffic violation on July 10 by state trooper Brian Encinia. He arrested her following an escalating conflict, during which he alleged that she had assaulted him and which was recorded by his dashcam and by a bystander's cell phone. The officer was placed on administrative duty for failing to follow proper traffic stop procedures, as the release of the dashcam video supports the claim that normal procedures were not followed by the arresting officer.
On July 16 Texas authorities and the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that they had begun a joint investigation into Bland's death. Waller County district attorney's office said that her death would be investigated as a possible murder. A motion-activated camera outside her cell recorded no movement in the hallway for 90 minutes before founding her dead.

Well, it's over -- or it's just begun. Kim Davis is in jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. Is this about religious liberty? Not on your life. It's about the rule of law. And when it comes to the rule of law, Kim Davis is dead-on RIGHT.
Where do each of the Presidential hopefuls stand on Kim Davis? Which believe in the rule of law and which are judicial supremecists? We'll talk about that.
Where do YOU stand? Call and participate tonight (Friday 9/4) at 7PM Missouri Time. Blog Talk Radio featured host Dave and the Sloan Ranger Lloyd will explore the issues with you. The call-in number is, as always, 347-677-1835.

My son has always had behavioral problems growing up. As a mother we have unique intuitions. I felt that he had been sexually assaulted but couldn't prove it.
I had been sexually assaulted as a child by my brother and never shared it with anyone til I was in my mid 20's.
My son as a child was verbally and slightly physically abused by his dad. I had him arrested when Zach was 2 and we worked through the system on their relationship but still Zach was hard to handle with his outburts.
As Zach got older he continue to be socially awkward and behind in his social skill set even through high school.
During the year prior to jail time. I had him forensically evaluated to understand his thinking and mindset. What came out of it was a barrier... Zach had been sexually assaulted by brother. Not one blow to us but now a second one.
Zach started counseling immediately for the year every week. He continues in prison to go to counseling, take mental health classes, and college course as well as work half days.
As a mom, I grieved and hard. It has taken 1.5 / 2 years to fully understand and work through the pain, the loss, the future, the present, and make the necessary separations in relationships.
It has brought out anger, sadness, grief, mourning, compassion, empathy, and reality for others. It has enlightened me to the needs in society. We need each other. My son has completed 1 yr 3 mos and has 2 yrs 9 mos left to complete in prison.

Guest: Pamela Havey Lau - Friendship & Judge Sentences Christian to Jail in KY.
Pamela Havey Lau joins us for her second interview to discuss her book A Friend in Me: How to Be A Safe Haven for Other Women
Young women long for relational connection with women further ahead of them on the journey. Yet, without realizing it, many of us tend to distance ourselves from those in younger generations. Can we really have close relationships with women who have different thoughts on church, different experiences with family, and different ways of talking about God? Where do we start?
In A Friend in Me, Pam Lau shows you how to be a safe place for the younger women in your life. She offers five patterns women need to internalize and practice for initiating relationships and talking about issues such as faith, forgiveness, sexuality, and vocation. Most significantly, she reminds you that there doesn’t need to be a divide between generations of women. Together, we can have a global impact—and experience a deeper faith than we’ve ever known.
