Nikki Haley, Republican governor of South Carolina, gave one of the best GOP responses to the State of the Union address.
She spoke about the need for governing in the middle, shunning the noise masquerading as knowledge from the extremists of her own party. It took courage. It's what leadership is supposed to look like.
She spoke of the members of the S. Carolina church that after suffering the tragedy of the mass shooting, did not resort to extremism hate speech. Instead, they rose above the tragedy and put their character and strong values to work, urging peace in the face of violence.
They were our better angles. They were our role models.
Nikki Haley made remarks such as;
‘We need to recognize our contributions to the erosion of the public trust’
“While Democrats in Washington bear much responsibility for the problems facing America today, they do not bear it alone,” Nikki Haley said. “There is more than enough blame to go around."
“We as Republicans need to own that truth. We need to recognize our contributions to the erosion of the public trust in America’s leadership, we need to accept that we’ve played a role in how and why our government is broken, and then we need to fix it.”

President Obama's SOTU address had it's moments (some not as bad as the others). In all honesty I feel he did a pretty good job at establishing his legacy. The GOP's decision to ask South Carolina's Governor Nikki Haley was a brilliant move. How will the 2016 Presidential Candidates react to Obama's presentation? What's next for Nikki Haley? What do you think about these issues? What I really want to hear is how you would suggest I spend my forthcoming lottery winnings? Looking forward to having you join us this morning "In the Pickle Barrel".

He also knew 50 of the NYC firefighters who died & some who survived the collapse. and attended some of their funerals. David is also a teacher in preparedness. He is an expert in Family Disaster Preparedness for Surviving Natural and Man-Made Hazards Terrorism and terrorist incidents.
As a director and writer, David llikes to discuss the theory and psychology behind horror movies, why we love them, and how to use that fear to write a horror story then turn it into a horror themed screenplay. For examples, sexuality & the vampire, actors who played vampires, notable writers of vampires, werewolves, and zombies, books, movies & tv shows.
David also teaches how to write a movie logline, one paragraph summary, a “one page leave behind 3 paragraph movie storyline summary”, and if needed an appropriate movie title, as well as how overt and subtle use of symbolism was used effectively in a movie to tell a story. The class will focus on elite/secret societies, the male-female relationship, psychology behind “sexual ritual programming”, satanic and Tantric rituals, good vs. evil, lust, desire, love, kundalini, emotional attachment & detachment, then discuss its use in Stanley Kubrick’s movie “Eyes Wide Shut” as the case study. (History of Sex: The Eastern World – Philosophies about sex and spiritually in the Eastern cultures are explored)

Phyl's book, “The Power of T.H.E. P.A.C.T.” was published in 2010 when the framework first launched. Simply put, T.H.E. P.A.C.T. simplifies learning for children of any age, which in turn simplifies teaching for teachers of any grade. And, it is bridging the gap between special ed and gen ed with meaningful inclusion of learners with disabilities - including those with special needs (which has been my speciality since my fellowship at Johns Hopkins). She is thrilled to be able to share success stories as T.H.E. P.A.C.T. is being implemented in various locations around the US - including Alaska and Hawaii, some of the provinces in Canada, and parts of Australia and Italy.
In addition to the first book (I am currently working on Book 2), an “App System” for T.H.E. P.A.C.T. called the "iPACT” went live in the Apple App Store in October of 2014. 211 app activities are housed within this system - for connect-the-dots instruction - and it offers teaching staff differentiated templates for the four modules of the framework, each aligned to the Common Core Strands, which are Learn About, Read About, Write About, and Talk About. You can find out more at www.AboutTHEPACT.com.
In addition, Phyl has also been featured in an international bestselling trilogy called the Common Threads by Dr. Shellie Hipsky, President of Inspiring Lives International, who interviewed 100 empowering women from around the globe who are making a difference. Avaialable on Amazon.com.
