Todd Inman is a filmmaker from Philadelphia whose start in the industry began as a comedian...which explains why he can see the lighter side of some otherwise pretty intense situations.
Take his latest project, "The Corporate Brother," which is due to screen at the upcoming Urban Suburban Film Festival in Philadelphia in late June. The setting: a traditional workplace where the lead character, Bill, a professional African American male, experiences awkward situations courtesy of his White counterparts due to their poor interactive skills. In fact, most have no clue that their seemingly innocent comments, jokes, conduct is downright offensive, rude and ignorant. Most audiences will laugh as they relive many of the circumstances that Bill finds himself in.
Join us on WED, June 19th at 6pm EST for a brief chat on Todd Inman's "The Corporate Brother."
She’s often seen as the comic relief, the friend who has your back, the funny girl. But don’t let her infectious laugh fool you: Cocoa Brown is the real thing!
Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Cocoa started acting at age ten. In college she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth Univ with a BS in Mass Communications, and minored in Theatre Arts; and then obtained her Masters in Secondary Education from the Univ of Phoenix. For a time she worked for the firm that owns and operates Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and Disney On Ice.
1997 saw her retirement from corporate America to pursue stand-up comedy full-time. In just seven months as a stand-up comic, Cocoa won the Washington Comedian of the Year, which set off a string of events that would eventually land her on the big screen in Lakeview Terrace (Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington), and on TV (Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse; ER; Two Broke Girls; The First Family; Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23; Las Vegas; and more). She can also be seen in national commercials (as in the Progressive commercial where she asks, "Are YOU Flo??")
Join us on Thursday, Sept 12 at NOON (est) when we enjoy this beautiful and exceptionally funny lady, Ms. Cocoa Brown (no relation).

My guest this Sunday, Nov. 3 is author Nike Campbell-Fatoki. We will be 'chatting' about her new book, Thread of Gold Beads.
About the author:
Nike Campbell-Fatoki was born in Lvov, Ukraine to Nigerian parents. She spent her formative years in Lagos, Nigeria, listening to stories and folktales told by her maternal Grandparents. Her fondest memories were the weekends her mother took her and her siblings to Kings Way, on Lagos Island, returning back with bags of story books.
About the book:
Amelia, daughter of the last independent King of Danhomè, King Gbèhanzin, is the apple of her father’s eye, loved beyond measure by her mother, and overprotected by her siblings. She searches for her place within the palace amidst conspirators and traitors to the Kingdom. Just when Amelia begins to feel at home in her role as a Princess, a well-kept secret shatters the perfect life she knows. Someone else within the palace also knows and does everything to bring the secret to light. A struggle between good and evil ensues causing Amelia to leave all that she knows and loves. She must flee Danhomè with her brother, to south-western Nigeria. In a faraway land, she finds the love of a new family and God. The well-kept secret thought to have been dead and buried, resurrects with the flash of a thread of gold beads. Amelia must fight for her life and what is left of her soul.
