Tonight's special guest is Laura M Parks from Chandler, Arizona, child abuse and DV survivor - author of several books including, "Under the Broken Halo," "A Promise to God: The Story of Pastor Cam Iverson" and "Alias 'The Rose': Though the petal may fall.....She shall never be forgotten." Being brutally raped by her older brother, molested regularly and beaten by her father, emotionally abused by her mother, and molested by other family members, led her down a very destructive path. "By my teen years I didn't know which way was up and dreamed of either dying or running away." She says. "I married men like my father, domineering, abusive, and controlling. Between marriages I hung out with bikers in dimly lit bars engaging in activities that were less than appropriate for a mother of young children. I made some bad decisions and the cycle of abuse continued in my children." One morning in February of 2009 she woke up and said "enough is enough." She decided to start living instead of just existing. "I had faith that I could finally become a whole person and started making arrangements to move on with my life," she says. "The day I left my third husband, he was waving a gun in my face threatening to blow a hole in anyone that came on "his" property. Even though I was terrified and shaking, I refused to back down from him. I packed my stuff, got in my car, and drove away from the nightmare." Laura concludes, "I listened to my voice inside, prayed every day, stayed strong and never looked back. My mission is to inspire others to become survivors and stop considering themselves victims. If I did it, so can you." As Laura says, "We don't have to stay victims, we can all become survivors."

Why do you think, as fans of the NBA, we always make comparison between players and teams?
A lot of fans complain about the NBA getting rid of the hand checking rule and often consider the NBA soft for that reason. Do you think the NBA was tougher when the hand checking rule existed or the NBA is tougher now without the rule?
What NBA Star from the past can compete in today's NBA?
Could players like Chris Mullins be a star in today's NBA or just a three point specialist?
Today is special because we are talking Sneakers (Hip-Hop) of course)!
Sneakers like Jordans, Air Maxes, Lebrons, Yeezys, SBs, Adidas and even Reeboks..
We can't wait to talk about how Hip-Hop has influenced sneakers and the symbiotic connection between the two cultures.
We'll discuss some of our favorite sneaker-themed songs and Hip-Hop themed sneakers, iconic songs and lyrics about sneakers and dissect the list of Hip-Hop's biggest sneakerheads.
To help us do this we've called upon sneaker aficionado and Guiness Book of World Records title holder, Jordan Geller of the Shoezeum, the owner of the world's single largest collection of sneakers.

The WAVE IN SPORTS debate what is the best draft class in NBA history, 1984 or 1996. It is Olajuwon, Jordan, Barkley, & Stockton vs Iverson, Allen, Bryant & Nash. We will debate the overall quality, depth and win shares of each draft. Numbers are one thing but we will also debate/discuss how the eye test would determine effectiveness in each era and in the current era. The biggest debate of them all is a 12 vs 12 best of 7 series. Its the heart and will of Jordan & Olajuwon vs Iverson & Kobe's: the brute force of Barkley, Willis & Thorpe vs the pure shooting of Peja, Allen & Nash; it will be the greatest series ever between draft classes. Check the WAVEINSPORTS Twitter feed for the WHATIFSPORTS simulations as well. Hosted by The Sports Phenomenologist Radee Hill.
We will be talking sports and having fun doing it. Expected to be joined by Eagles S Malcolm Jenkins, who discuss the Eagles mini camp and more. Also, Vikings S Kurt Coleman will join us to discuss his signing with the Vikings and more. New Orleans Saints WR Nick Toon will join us to discuss the upcoming NFL season. FIU G Tymell Murphy, who discuss his NBA chances and more. Also, talking all things NBA Draft. The winners and losers, the hits and misses. Also, where does Lebron James go? Carmelo Anthony?
