The Title of Today's Show is They always Remember November. Why that title? Because November sets the stage for the end of the year and it is the month that that the true contenders for championships in any level of football start to rise to the top. November is also the month that we give thanks for all the events of the year. November is the eleventh month and it also serves as the segway into the Holiday season. And basketball season is also heating up and pro football is really hitting its stride. So lets begin to Remember November.

Natalie Gelman was a street performing NYC troubadour who won over hearts across the country with her music, soulful voice and dynamic songwriting. She literally moved up from the subway to Carnegie Hall and many venues in between. And along the way she found herself in national publications like the NY Times and Billboard Magazine because of it. Often compared to Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell and Jewel, Natalie is an artist in her own right - called “Simply Terrific” by the NY Post and named the “poster girl for the solo, storytelling singer/songwriter” by Music Connection Magazine. Best of all, she joins us on Music FridayLive! this Friday.
Alex Nester brings back the art of real, live un-moduilated music-making with hot blues that makes you shake and shimmy and cool vocals that do a slow burn in your ears. A bout with cancer as a teen has helped shape her unique sound filled with messages of love, faith, positivity, and healing while channeling the retro soul artists of the 60’s and 70’s. Her resume already includes 12 albums, countless jingles, and over 25 theatrical productions, as well as working with established musicians such as Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, The Fifth Dimension, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Desi Arnaz, Jr., Alphonse Mouzon, Brandon Fields, and Eric Marienthal.. Plays hard and late and she joins us Friday.
Early retirement isn't always what we envision. We think that we will now have time to do things with current friends, but they are still working, We flounder about and feel a loss of identity that we had associated with our work. Sometimes our health issues take over our retirement and make the very things we wanted to do harder. Now you start to wonder how do I fill tmy time. Will I be able to find friends to go and do things with where I now live. As much as we look to retirement as we age the reality is, its not always a bed of roses.

A composite of Gratitude and humility or humility and gratitude we will be looking deep in the these essential components of recovery and the stepping stones to a happy joyous and free life. We explore the phrase that “an attitude of gratitude is a prayer unto God”
Humility is like underwear, essential unless it shows, then its indecent.
My very favorite definition of humility is given by one of our co-founders, Dr. Bob Smith who claims humility to be, “A clear understanding of who and what we are followed by a sincere attempt to become what we could be.” I would offer that while many people in A.A. would suggest that the fourth and fifth step show us who we are, I believe that what those steps actually achieve are showing us who we are not. I would further offer that in Step Six and Seven, we become willing to let go of who we are not, which will then begin the process of finding out who we are. Michelangelo said, “Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.” Obviously, the process of sculpting involves finding the statue within the stone by cutting away all the pieces that are blocking its truth. Similarly, in the alcoholic, the step work chips away at all the falsities that are blocking the prospect form God’s love, that he may come to find his truth.
An attitude of gratitude is a prayer unto God.

Thanksgiving is coming up and so is Black Friday, long considered the shopping “kick off” for Christmas. It is ironic how we give thanks for what is good in our lives right before we go on a mad rush of shopping that often involves standing in long lines overnight and trampling over others to get what we want.
In this episode of Pandora’s Box we will be looking at the true meaning of Thanksgiving and Christmas, why we distract ourselves with enormous amounts of food the mad rush of shopping. Do you want to have a much more meaningful holiday season? Tune in and discover how.
Hana Kim is a Los Angeles-based independent singer/songwriter. Hana has established her musical chops since 2009, performing at prominent venues such as the Hotel Café, The Ford Amphitheatre, The Roxy Theater. She has perfromed internationally and was featured on the Paraguay’s national TV Network, Red Guarani. She has opened for artists such as Ryan Cabrera, Sam Bradley, and Marty O’Reilly and is using her music to advocate awareness for injustices of human and sex trafficking. She joins us Friday with music and hope.
HANNAH's music echoes the sounds of the Nordic coast. But she blends it with urban dance halls mixes, folk songs and improvised instrumental/vocal musicand cutting edge electronic sounds. She counts Massive Attack, Phaeleh, Trentemøller, and Ólafur Arnalds as influences. The resulting sonic palate takes listeners on “a kind of mystical journey” (PopMatters), whose destination is a crossroads between classical and contemporary, organic and man-made, familiar and mysterious. HANNAH has set herself apart as an artist to watch and we get to talk with her Friday
Tonight, join an Observer as we discuss the consumerism of this time of year (Black Friday), and the (possibly) upcoming riots in Ferguson...
Your calls are welcome, as always.
