Deepertruth: The Virgin Mary Appearing In The Philippines In The 1600's

    in Religion

    One example:

In the year 1603, in a small barrio of Caysasay, in the town of Taal, a fisherman by the name of
Juan Maningcad went out fishing and instead of casting his net on the sea, threw it into the nearby
river, and instead of catching fish, caught a little statue of the Blessed Virgin of the Immaculate
Conception about six inches high. Although it was soaked in water, it had a heavenly lustre and her
face twinkled like a star. Upon seeing this marvel, the startled Juan, being a pious and virtuous man
prostrated himself before the image and began to pray. He picked it up and brought it home. "No
one knew how the image got to the river, and according to the old folks, perhaps the image was
thrown by one of the Spaniards to pacify the ravages of the ocean during one of those expeditions
and somehow the waves pushed it to the river. Another opinion was that perhaps someone exploring
the river must have inadvertently dropped it. (Some believe it came from China.)
The news began to spread like lightning until it reached the priest in town, and the judge that
represented the King of Spain at that time. Without notice they immediately went to Juan
Maningcad's house and there they saw the beautiful image of the Mother of God. They knelt down
to venerate it, and took the image to Taal where a town fiesta was celebrated.
The widow of the Justice of the Peace by the name of Madam Maria Espiritu, was given the task of
caring for the image. She ordered a precious urn to be made for the image and kept it in her home.
Every evening she noticed that the urn turned empty and the image gone, but then in the morning it
would be back in its usual place.

    The Blessed Virgin Mary

    in Religion

Rebroadcast of the long running radio program, "The Ave Maria Hour", a presentation of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. www.AtonementFriars.org

The Blessed Virgin Mary - This  Ave Maria episode of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary begins with the prophecies of Isaiah and others, and takes us through her life.  The angel appears to Mary and tells her she will bear a Son and call Him Jesus.  Her response is to say “let it be done to me according to Thy will.” As she raised her son, she kept in her heart these words, “Teach me thy way oh Lord and I will walk in the Truth.”  Mary receives the body of her Son Jesus at Calvary, shedding tears over his body and for all the dead who will die in His name so that others may live.  She becomes the Queen of Martyrs, is taken into heaven and her abode is in the full assembly of Saints.  Jesus gives us his gentle mother, mother of Mercy and her compassion for all who call upon Him.

Deepertruth: The Virgin Mary at Quito Ecuador 1610 Part III

    in Religion

With the tabernacle door being opened, coming from within this bright light emerged Jesus, His holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. John the Apostle, and finally Mary Magdalene. In this vision, a life size Jesus standing near the Altar, began to be in agony.

In seeing this vision, Mother Mariana asked Our Lady, “My Lady, am I guilty? The Virgin Mary responded,“You are not guilty, but rather the sinful world”. Editors note: The Virgin Mary was not saying that Mother Mariana was sinless, but that the Virgin Mary is referring to the sins of the world specifically. Mother Mariana was being called here to do sacrifice for others as a handmaid of the Lord.

Then a voice coming from Heaven, the voice of Our Heavenly Father exclaimed, “This punishment will be for the 20th Century” (and beyond). Above the vision of Jesus came three swords that appeared with the words, heresy, blasphemy, and impurity. These swords would mark the 20th Century’s cold faithless time in human history.

The Virgin Mary asked Mother Mariana if she would do sacrifice for the people of the 20th Century and the three swords were plunged into her heart. Consider the sacrifice the Blessed Virgin Mary endured where her heart would be pierced by a sword, so too Mother Mariana would be offered the opportunity to serve Our Lord and His Mother.

At the end of the vision, Jesus presented Mother Mariana two crowns, one of glory, and the other of lilies surrounded with thorns. The Lord asked her to choose one and Mother Mariana chose the crown of lilies with thorns. As a result, Our Lord and Our Lady would work through Mother Mariana.

Don, the cohost, gunpoint conversion to Protestantism; Virgin Mary at Fatima

    in The Bible

Don will retract his statement that Mary got pregnant by accident from Last night's show.  What he meant is that God chose Mary to carry Jesus but she was not set up to be worshipped.  She was a womb that was sacred but she was still a human.  Only Jesus and the Holy Trinity should be exalted.   Don and Jane will review comments said on the previous night's show.

Jane will read excerpts of 2 of 7 appearances of an angel and Mary at Fatima, Portugal to 3 children btwn May-October, 1917.

Deepertruth: The Virgin Mary Appearing in Las Lajas Columbia South America 1754

    in Religion

On the borders between Colombia and Ecuador is a beautiful sanctuary, a wonder to its visitors. There is a venerated image of Our Lady of Las Lajas, and thousands and thousands of pilgrims from both countries visit each year and obtain many favors from God.

Back in the eighteenth century, María Mueses de Quiñones, a local woman from the village of Potosi, Colombia, often walked the six miles between her village and the neighbouring one of Ipiales. One day in 1754 as she was making the journey, she approached the place called Las Lajas (the Rocks), where the trail passes through a deep gorge of the Guaitara River. Maria never liked this part of the trail because there were rumors that a cave in Las Lajas was haunted.  Such superstitions remained among the converted Christian Indians.

Deepertruth: The Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Dominic

    in Religion

In the year 1214 Saint Dominic, the founder of the Order of Preachers, was in anguish because he was failing in his attempt to convert the Albigensian Cathar heretics. St. Dominic attributed this to the deepness and gravity of sinfulness of the heretics and the poor example of Catholics. He went alone in to the forest and wept and prayed continuously for three days to appease the anger of Almighty God. He flogged his body and scourged his flesh. From the fasting, pain, and exhaustion, he passed in to a coma.

St. Dominic experienced an apparition of Blessed Mother Mary while in the coma, which forever links Saint Dominic and the Rosary. The Immaculate Mary with three angels appeared and asked St. Dominic, “Dear Dominic, do you know which weapon the Blessed Trinity wants to use to reform the world?” Dominic’s response was Blessed Mary knew better than he because she is a part of our salvation.

Mary responded, “I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the battering ram has always been the Angelic Psalter* which is the foundation stone of the New Testament. Therefore if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, preach my Psalter.”

Deepertruth: The Virgin Mary and The Philippines Part II

    in Religion

Last week John Carpenter looks at the posibility of Mother Mary appearing in the Philippines between 1988-1993.  It is still under investigation, so we can't say this is total fact, but we are looking at the information that is being studied.  Many signs reported match many other authorized Marian apparitions.  An estimated one million people gathered in a small Philippine town north of Manila on 6 March to witness a visitation of the Virgin Mary. Many people in the crowd, including top Philippine government officials, journalists, and the local Catholic bishop - acting as a representative of the Pope - attested to seeing a silhouette resembling the Virgin Mary appear above a guava tree for approximately five seconds. This was followed several minutes later by flashes of red, yellow and blue lights moving towards a "dancing sun".

The events took place at Apparition Hill in the small town of Agoo, in La Union province. A visionary boy, 16-year-old Judiel Nieva, says that the Virgin Mary has been appearing to him, and giving him messages, on the first Saturday of every month and on special religious feasts since 1989. The pilgrims gathered in Agoo on 6 March because the boy said the Virgin would appear at that particular place and time.

About a month earlier, a statue of the Virgin Mary owned by Judial Nieva's family began regularly weeping tears of blood. The phenomenon was witnessed by thousands during a noontime mass in February. An assistant to the nationâs President said that the statue was brought before his critically ill wife on two occasions, and both times she unexpectedly recovered. There are also reports that Communion wafers turn to flesh and blood in Nievaâs mouth. Another resident of the area said that his statue of the Virgin was also "shedding tears, which later turn blood red."
