Producer and Keyboardist Jason Carroll and Trumpeter Isaac Byrd, Jr., joins us to talk about their new project Silky & Smooth. Formed by Jason and Isaac, Silky & Smooth is a collaboration that features the likes of Jeff Gaeth, Nathan Woodward, David P. Stevens, and Charlie Duran. With a lineup as versatile as this, the sound is as unique as smooth jazz gets. Though Carroll produced all of the songs on the album, Silky & Smooth has enough diversity from song to song to satisfy just about any smooth jazz lover's craving for tasteful music.
Trumpeter Isaac Byrd, Jr., brings a rich and dynamic history as a jazz performer to his emergence in the contemporary urban jazz world. Isaac returns with a new cd called "Life". The single "Meek" featuring guitarist Nils is named after his wife, Shmeka.

The Nashville Scene released it's annual list "You're So Nashville If..." Matt and Shawn go through many of them and also tease several upcoming events. They are also announcing a new contest!
And this week's #NUartist is Isaac Hayden. Hayden was signed by Sam Brooker to an artist development and publishing deal with Artist Revolution Records in 2013. Sam and Isaac are currently finishing work on Isaac’s debut album featuring cameos from some awesome local and national talent such as The McCrary Sisters, Jeremy Lister, Daniel Ellsworth and Jared Kneale, who is now playing drums for Kacey Musgraves.
Many people have questions as to why the Most High would allow Sarah, the wife of Abraham, to give birth to Isaac in her old age; blessing both with the son they had desired for so long and then later ask Abraham to offer Isaac as a burnt offering. Was this scenario just about testing Abraham's loyalty and allegiance as such behavior sounds homicidal and not characteristic of a just and loving God. Was there more to the story which would expound upon certain aspects which might fill in detail and bring story to light in different way? We will utilize the book of Jasher to revisit details of the story which could present it in new light.
