What do the Polls say about Same-Sex Marriage ?
Eight national polls on same-sex marriage have been conducted so far this year, according to the PollingReport.com database. The consensus of these polls is that support for same-sex marriage now exceeds opposition to it; on average, the polls have 51 percent saying they approve same-sex marriage, and 43 percent saying they are opposed.Nate Silver
The Supreme Court is wading into the fight over same-sex marriage at a time when public opinion is shifting rapidly in its’ permission of gay and lesbian couples to wed. To date, 40 states don't allow it. Supporters of Proposition 8 say the court should respect the verdict of California voters who approved the ban in 2008 and let the fast-changing politics of gay marriage evolve on their own. As a heterosexual diversity professional, I have had connections to the LGBT community for my entire life. And I am a devout Christian. My children's godfather is gay. A very close personal friend of our family was gay. And I have had lesbian friends for many years. For me, it's just the way it is…some people are straight like me. Some people are not. And in that spirit I openly endorsed the Massachusetts court ruling on same sex marriage in 2004, much to the horror of some of my would be friends and clients. Now nine years later LGBT and same sex marriage issues are part of our everyday conversation. And today, to shed light on a very personal experience of what it's like to live in the LGBT community, my guest is Simma Lieberman. My friend for many years. A well respected diversity and inclusion consultant from Berkeley, California. And a lesbian mother who recently shared her evolution on same sex marriage following the death of her partner of 18 years, Sandra Brown. Her commentary was just published on the CNN website…and its heartwarming account of two women in love will cause you to re-examine your own perspective on LGBT issues. Stop long enough and listen to today's show. And share the interview with your friends and colleagues so that you can explore LGBT issues with greater clarity and confidence.

This show is for those involved in a hurting marriage, or for those who may know of a hurting married couple. My name is Jeff Grant. I have been divorced twice from marriages that were rushed into, and am now married to the one woman The Lord has pre-destined from the start for me to spend the rest of my life with. We married after being together 12 1/2 years on 11/11/11 at the 11th hour. We had actually broken up three times before, but the end result was always the same. Neither of us could imagine life without the other. We were brought through the fire together, and after the third breakup experienced the most beautiful, close, and blissful marriage.
There are many important factors in a successful marriage, and the most important of all is your personal relationship with Jesus Christ #1, and the relationship with your spouse #2, and the comitment of Christ to the drivers seat of your marriage, and binding your lives and your home together in His love.
It is also important to know what love is. I encourage you to open your Bible to I COR 13:1-13 which clearly defines what love is really all about. The most significant realization of that passage is that "Love NEVER fails". If it is true love, you simply cannot kill it no matter what. If you say "I do not love you anymore" then you have never really loved to begin with.
It is too easy to get a divorce in our world today. In fact my first wife was able to divorce me without my signature on ANY of the paperwork. It is too easy to say "Maybe we should just end this, and move on". Once you have exchanged your wedding vows, divorce should NEVER be considered an option. In both of my cases it was not I who initiated the divorce. I take vows that are made before The lord God Almighty very seriously, and so should you.

Have you ever heard of the phrase '90 days, same as cash'? Most of the time, it's used in testing out a product interest free for 90 days before you commit to an investment. Couldn't this also apply in dating and relationships? Tune in as Anissa and Alistair explore the difference between being 'interest free' and 'investment worthy'.
