Behind the Headlines: Iranian nuclear power – What’s the big deal?

    in Current Events

For some 10-15 years, the 'Iranian nuclear issue' has been a recurring 'crisis' in world politics. Media focus on this topic appears to wax and wane as US-Israeli bellicosity rises and falls – one day, war is a sure thing; the next, Iran is 'our partner'. Recently, a 'framework agreement' was agreed between Iran and the permanent UN Security Council member-states: Iran will ‘reduce its uranium enrichment capacity’ in exchange for ‘phased sanctions relief’.

As the world goes from crisis to crisis, we wonder; what makes Iran's pursuit of nuclear technology such a critical issue? This week on Behind the Headlines we're hoping to get to the heart of the matter, taking into account Saudi Arabia's invasion of Yemen, a parallel theater of 'conflict management', and Greece's 'pivot' towards Russia.

    We're live this Sunday, 12 April 2015, from 2-3:30pm EST / 11am-12.30pm PST / 7-8.30pm UTC / 8-9.30pm CET.

The Behind the Headlines talkshow takes place each Sunday on the SOTT Radio Network, the radio network of SOTT.net, your media source for independent news and commentary on world events. Analyzing global impact events that shape our world and future, and connecting the dots to reveal the bigger picture obscured by mainstream programming, Behind the Headlines is current affairs for people who think.

Hard Starboard Radio: Obama & Revolutionary Romance

    in Politics Conservative

The New York Times hurls the same tiresome charge in defending Barack Obama’s reckless diplomacy; Obama's foreign-policy disasters result not from incompetence but from a conscious agenda; A year after it left Ukraine for Russia, Crimea is suffering; Behold, the world's lowest bar; Hillary Clinton's joyless ride; and she has accomplished nothing, but Elizabeth Warren is a woman (who’s a liberal), and that’s all that matters to the Left.  What, you thought I meant Hillary Clinton?

    Another Hillary Atrocity--Iranian Government Money

    in Politics Conservative

Yet another Hillary atrocity—the Clinton Foundation refuses to return money from an Iranian government front group.  The Free Beacon reports that the Alavi Foundation donated $30,000 in 2006, between $25,000 and $50,000 in 2008.

WaPo reported in 2003 that federal law enforcement officials said Alavi was closely tied to the mullahs and funds a variety of anti-American causes.

This right after Hillary informs us that her Hillarymail server had been wiped clean so she could dodge a subpoena.  Is there anything that can take down this buffalo?

Obama/Congress strike Iranian deal, really? $100's of millions wasted on Ebola

    in Politics Conservative

    Showtime  8AM-10AM EST

Iranians, Obam & Conrgess have come up with a compromised Iranian nuclear deal. Whoa, not so fast! Maybe, maybe not. USA spends $100s of million dollarsand sends 3000 troops to help curb the Ebola threat in in Liberia. The meer thought of US involvement must have scared the virus to death. The US gave aid to only 28 Ebola patients. THis and more "in the Pickle Barrel".

U.S. warships headed to waters around Yemen (Second Coming Watch Update #620)

    in Christianity

    1. The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is steaming toward the waters off Yemen to beef up security and join other American ships that are prepared to intercept any Iranian vessels carrying weapons to the Houthi rebels fighting in Yemen.

    2. A Shiite rebel leader in Yemen vowed to not surrender amid Saudi-led airstrikes in a rambling speech that rejected U.N. efforts to halt violence there, even as the political party of the country’s former leader welcomed international efforts for a cease-fire.

    3. A tsunami as big as one metre was forecast to hit the Okinawa island chain after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck far-southern Japan.

    4. The first French weapons from a $3 billion Saudi-funded program will arrived in Lebanon on Monday as allies seek to bolster the country’s defenses against the Islamic State group and other jihadists pressing along its Syrian border.

    5. A senior commander in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said on Sunday that international nuclear inspectors will be barred from all Iranian military sites under any deal with world powers, setting up a possible standoff as negotiators try to reach a final deal.

You can read these stories in more detail and get more prophecy-related news at SecondComingHerald.com.

The prophetic passage of Scripture we are looking at today is Joshua 10:7-10 which reads: "So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour. And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee. Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night. And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.”
