Born Case Woodard, R&B star Case inherited his musical gifts from his father who was once a member of 70’s funk band Cameo. The oldest sibling of 3, the New York native grew up in a strict household and although music was the bond that tied him and his father together, it would also tear them apart.
Case’s solo career took off in 1996 with the release of "Touch Me, Tease Me" (with rapper Foxy Brown and R&B singer Mary J. Blige) from The Nutty Professor soundtrack, going gold and reaching #4 on the R&B charts and #63 on the Hot 100. His self-titled debut Case soon followed along with the minor R&B hit singles "More to Love" and "I Gotcha." Case followed the success of his first album with the release of Personal Conversation in 1999.

The powers that be opened up a new case on him from that and he now is a prisoner of the system. Come tale a listen to his story and spread the word. If they can do this to Johnathon, they can do it to you. Why did they work so hard to set him up and build a case against him? Why did they try to link him to Charles Dyer? Why hasthere been so much intimdation surrounding his case? We have questions and we are going to get the answers.
This week on Correcting The System of Unequal Justice:
Gerald E. Rose and Carla B., open up the phone lines to discuss the situation in Ferguson, Ohio -- stemming from the Michael Brown shooting. Call in & sound off @ 718-664-6543.
Update on the Michael Brown case:
Missouri Senators Claire McCaskill (D) and Roy Blunt (R) released a statement on the case:
“I join all Missourians in remembering the family of Michael Brown & the Ferguson community as they grieve the tragic loss of this young man,” Blunt said. “His recent high school graduation should have been a beginning of better things.”
Police say that Brown was killed while struggling for an officer’s gun.
“As a mother I grieve for this child and his family,” McCaskill said.
The Brown shooting may bring back memories of the Feb. 2012 Florida shooting death of unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watch officer George Zimmerman. Martin’s death sparked nationwide alarm, and Zimmerman’s case (he was acquitted) was addressed by President Obama.
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon called for the independent investigation.
“It is vital that the facts about this case are gathered in a thorough, transparent and impartial manner, in which the public has complete confidence. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragic event, and I ask St. Louis County residents to exercise patience and respect for their neighbors as federal authorities work to get to the bottom of what happened through this comprehensive, independent review.”

This week we will be discussing the David Thorne Case with advocates Sue Gless Thorne and Lynne Blanchard.
David Thorne was convicted in January of 2000, and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, for allegedly hiring an acquaintance to kill his son's mother, Yvonne Layne, in March of 1999.
Thorne has proclaimed his innocence from the beginning, and his supporters contend that there is overwhelming evidence that he was falsely arrested and wrongfully convicted. Thorne, who had a iron-clad alibi, was implicated by Joseph Wilkes, a mentally and emotionally impaired man, after Wilkes was arrested and interrogated by police officers. After being threatened with the death penalty, Wilkes told his interrogators that he was hired by Thorne to commit the murder. The problem was that Wilkes was unable to provide accurate details of the crime scene. According to Forensic Scientist Brent Turvey, Joseph Wilkes got every detail of the crime wrong, except the type of weapon used.
Shockingly, the jury bought the confession of Wilkes, despite his glaring inconsistencies, putting David Thorne in prison for the rest of his life.
We will be taking calls in the final segment. Please call in with any comments or questions: (347) 850-1478.

Yes we were to do this show last week--HOWEVER COMCAST mucked up my net and so we are doing this show tonight
Attorney Sarah Steele and writer Bennet Pomerantz discuss the subjects of the day.
The audience should know that although Ms. Steele is a licensed attorney, she is not offering legal advice in any capacity, is not establishing an attorney/client relationship with anyone listening to the show, and recommends that any listener of the show consult a competent local attorney for any legal advice they may require.
This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.
Tonight we discuss privacy on the web versus illegal piracy activity. Lionsgate film studio has been allowed to subpoena companies to help it find those who pirated copies of The Expendables 3. They will now ask companies including Google and GoDaddy to find the sharers' identities. Third parties also subpoenad include CloudFlare, Incapsula, Google, GoDaddy and Domains by Proxy LLC. Lionsgate may demand the production of electronically stored information such as billing records, website content, server logs and correspondence. To many, this flies in the face of privacy concerns that are very hot right now. Tune in to hear where this falls on the “legally allowable” versus “internet privacy" spectrum.

Featured Song: "Make Strong" by Hawane
The song is entitled, “Make Strong” and was written by Hawane for all who are standing for their sacred places from the mountains to the sea. The title was taken from a phrase uttered by our elder, Micronesian master navigator, papa mau piailug when ever the crew members were readying for a long voyage on the double hull canoes, he’d say to them, make strong for the voyage..if you didn’t make strong you weren’t ready to go...applies to everything we do as warriors.
