Are you one that has been shying away from live networking events, do you cringe when the word networking comes up? I can totally relate. Today we're discussing how social media is perfect for introverts. It's not about breaking you out of your shell, but embracing you just the way you are.
Do Opposites Really Attract: Introverts & Extroverts
Introverts at Ease: Nancy Okerlund Depending on who you listen to, introverts make up 25-50% of the U.S. population, or between 80 and 160 million people. That's a lot of self aware folks with strong powers of observation, concentration and focus. But many of us don't feel strong or energetic, and even wonder if there's something wrong with us. Our understanding of what makes an effective leader is shifting and expanding to include more diverse traits. These include the ability to listen carefully, be introspective, keep the spotlight on others, and work with patient persistence towards a focused vision. We are thrilled to announce that we had the opportunity to speak with the lovely Susan Cain, the author of Quiet: The Power of Introverts this past week. Susan provided some very insightful answers into the differences between extroverts and introverts, and how this dynamic is affecting the way we work, communicate, and live. The conversation will be released today, August 24, at 3 p.m. EST.
Susan gave a TED talk this March, speaking about some of her personal experiences of being an introvert and how people respond to it. Introversion is largely about how people respond to stimulation and specifically, social stimulation. Extroverts obviously generate a lot of "noise" and stimulation in response to social situations, while introverts digest and observe. In a very aggressive and dominant American culture, you can see how it is easy for there to be a bias towards introverts.

Join KaliSara and RevKess as they talk about what introverted Pagans can (and do) bring to the table. Extroverts are always the center of attention, whether they plan it that way or not. But the introvert is just as much a part of Pagan events. Learn a little from KaliSara, a self professed introvert, on what other introverts do to help grow the community. RevKess, who is obviously an extrrovert, will try to remain quiet and allow her to lead the show. (We'll see if he can manage to do tha
