    The Intern Group

    in Youth

Join my guest David Lloyd, the Founder and Managing Director of The Intern Group, and I talk about the wonderful opportunities his organization is providing young people around the world. The Intern Group offers internship programs globally, to talented outward looking individuals from all over the world to go all over the world. He will also share with you the lessons, mistakes, successes he has had along the way.
A British national, David studied at University College London and the London School of Economics. He previously lived in Argentina where he completed an internship at Rolex, perfected his Spanish and fell in love with the continent. Before setting up The Intern Group he was a fixed income salesman on the Iberian desk for Merrill Lynch in London. He left Merrill to pursue his true dream – to promote international opportunities and give others fantastic experiences like he had along with advantages that last.
This week's featured artist is April Kae, a dazzling singer who reveals a distinctively modern pop-dance edge, a connection to the classic soul music that inspired her, and a powerful voice that shines a spectrum of experience far beyond her chronological age.

Independent Everything: TAKE 2 ~ LIVE with College Radio Intern *MJ_KiDD*

    in Music

Since our listening audience only received a one sided, impromptu interview with our college radio intern a few weeks ago when she was brand new to the job...we decided to bring her back with a little more knowledge and insight.

So how does an Independent Label go about obtaining information on how they can get Artist exposure on College Radio Stations? With so many stations across the country, this could get rather tedious. Luckily, there is a list of College Radio stations that provides the phone number, email address, point of contact, and the genre(s) that the station plays. But that is only half of the job. Someone still needs to contact these radio stations and find out just what information is needed to air Artists on their stations.

Well WELCOME ABOARD to Collge Radio Intern *MJ_Kidd*!!

This young lady is a hard working, dedicated, enthusiastic, Honor Roll student with a very uncanny ear for music. A natural whiz when it comes to Science, and a new found love for math, she is wise beyond her years. Her true passion is for music and fashion design.

**MJ_KiDD** is a thirteen year old  with a love for #ALLTHINGSMUSIC. You can always catch her with her celly, earbuds in her ears, listening to one of 407 songs and a notepad and pen. She is jotting down lyrics, tapping out beats, and giving her own personal opinion of music. She likes music from the 70's-90's. It's her love for the strong, more intense, captivating, off the wall beats that made Metal 2 Music Executive Franz Ates take an interest in her. She loves how his beats are "out the box. Unlike any I have ever heard." On an upcoming instrumental mixtape produced by Franz you will find her serving as the creative designer.

Acting as College Radio intern allows her to learn more about an industry she already loves immensely.

  • The Author Chat Show with Lynda D. Brown

    in Books

Meet author Stephen W. Hiemstra. I'll be interviewing him about his book, A Christian Guide to Spirituality: Foundations for Disciples

    About the book:

A Christian Guide to Spirituality takes the form of 50 daily devotions. Each topic is treated with a scriptural reference, reflection, prayer, and questions for discussion. Occasionally, references are provided for further study. The first four chapters (Introduction, Apostle’s Creed, Lord’s Prayer, and Ten Commandments) cover 40 days making them suitable as a Lenten study. Ten additional days focus on the spiritual disciplines and a short conclusion. Fifty days of study allow an Easter study running through Pentecost.

    About the author:

Author Stephen W. Hiemstra (MDiv, PhD) is a slave of Christ, husband, father, tentmaker, economist, and writer. He lives with Maryam, his wife of thirty years, in Centreville, VA and they have three grown children.

Stephen has been an active writer spanning both his career as an economist and a pastor. As an economist of 27 years in 5 federal agencies, he published numerous government studies, magazine articles, and book reviews. He has maintained a personal website since the 1990s and he has been active in social media. A Christian Guide to Spirituality is his first published book.

Stephen is currently a second career tentmaker dividing his time equally between Hispanic ministry and blogging under a theme of “online pastor”. As a hospital chaplain intern, he worked in the emergency department, a psychiatric unit, and an Alzheimer’s unit. He is an elder in Centreville Presbyterian Church.
