This episode is being rebroadcast from Michele's original show, "Your Life After Trauma."
How we perceive trauma – and the world – impacts our perception of events and even ourselves. Studies suggest that highly sensitive persons are more prone to PTSD due to the delicate nature of their perceptions. Understanding this can help both survivors and their caregivers navigate post-trauma recovery.
Ane Axford, MS, LMFT, mental health and relationship therapist talks about ‘Highly Sensitive Persons’ from a clinical perspective.

A sensitive child, or sensitive children, may have many labels: the highly sensitive child, sensory sensitive child, emotionally sensitive child, highly energetically aware child and sometimes even the ‘overly’ sensitive child although (as we shall see) this may not necessarilly be the case! In a society where most of us numb our senses and shut out our feeling experiences, it can seem as though some children are ‘overly’ sensitive, but what if they are the ones who are really awake? Pioneering yogini Vanda Scaravelli once said “To be sensitive is to be alive”. What if sensitive children are simply that: alive, awake, and aware, in a world where everyone is sleeping? And what if they are here to help us ‘wake up’ too? This week, in addition to coaching, we’ll be exploring what parents, teachers and caregivers of sensitive children can do to support them in shining their light in the world. Call early, the coaching line could be very busy again this week!
Call the coaching line (818-495-6930) - between 9.00am and 10.00am MST - on ANY personal or business matter- this is an opportunity to receive masterful coaching in the moment leading to a shift in perspective that can quantum leap your life!

In this episode of the Transformation Cafe podcast, host Robin Masiewicz and Cafe regular Gloria discuss the topic of highly sensitive people, empaths, and "sensitives". Are these terms interchangeable? Are you highly sensitive to stimulation? Do you feel other's emotions and/or subtle shifts in energy when you walk in to a room? Are you highly intuitive? Robin and Gloria offer suggestions for dealing with overload.

There is something in a lamb that God does not regard as vanity.......there is born within, an image of light through which darkness can not pass: a Word is sown into the heart; before it is a heart.......so within me; God is.......yet, can God be, and not be eternal consciousness? Here, within, is union with God; and here alone, man is.......I am, and I can never cease to be: we abide, even though we move in and out of the textures of being.......thus, do all things float by me, over me, speak to me, minister to me.......they pass away, but I am. My joys, my sorrows, my experience, shall be what they are; but whether I use them or not, they too will pass, and leave no image behind.......but I can not pass with the pictures of things; I must abide: I am being, within Being; and the whole of my journey here, is to live.

If honesty is the foundation of trust and intimacy, why does it sometimes lead to hurt feelings?
What's the best way to bring up sensitive issues with our partners? Yes there are things we have concerns about like sex is maybe not as great as you hoped, bad hygene, money, how they dress, how they complain too much.... just plain sensitive things that are going in your relationship, but Iwe areafraid to talk to our partners about them because we don't want to start a fight and make things worse.
Perhaps we need to practice honesty the way we practice other skills. It’s not simply a matter of saying, “Your voice is annoying” or “You eat or drink too much.”
To avoid hurting each other’s feelings, we have to pick the right time and place, choose our words wisely, and – paradoxically – be ready to hear the truth about ourselves.
Join me Janice Clarke, Holistic Health Practitioner, Nutritional Consultant, Master Herbalist Reiki Practitioner and Host of THE SOULFUL HEALING TALK SHOW, to learn how to approach sensitive subjects with our partners without bringing any offence to the table. Of course you know I would really love to hear your input in this very sensitive but needed to be discussed topic!!
Me Time is going to be mighty interesting and enlightening for our relationships…DON’T MISS IT!!
