Home Front - Feed My Peeps

    in Politics Conservative

There is a private sector solution for all of our problems.

Today I went out to meet a lady who is making a difference.  She was in the catering business and observed all the quantities of good food that was being thrown out and found a way to save it, transport it and convert it into providing a little bit of happiness for those who are less fortunate.

If you think about the size of the entire St. Louis metropolitan area, you end up with a lot of food that is being trashed and a lot of people who would like to have it, if only someone could make the transition happen.

Jacki Dirksmeyer started an organization called, "Feed My Peeps".  She is that lady who made the connection.  We met at an outside café near an interstate, so you will hear plenty of traffic in the background, but you will also hear her heart and hopefully, it will inspire you to think about what you can do in your own community.

This World Is Not My Home

    in Christianity

1 Peter 2:11-12 says Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.  What a true verse of scripture we must be reminded of daily, that we do not belong to this world. We are strangers and pilgrims who are on a journey towards Heaven to reign with our Lord and Saviour. But until that great day comes it will be asked of us to go through many trials, difficuties, hardships and temptations in order to make us strong in our faith and trust in Almighty God. 2 Cor 4:8-9 makes this point very clear, " We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed". Exactly how are we to be seperate in a wicked, depraved and sensual world today? What will it take to stay focused towards the goal for the prize thats right before us? Know this, satan will always seek out ways to distract us from our journey and get us thinking about living it up here just a little while longer....eat, drink and be merry, indulge in every lustful appetite you can think of. He simply wants you to forget your just a sojourner, forget those eternal bliessings and rewards in Christ, and yes miss out on Gods best. King Solomon said it best, Ecclesiastes 2:1  said to myself, "Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good." But that also proved to be meaningless, lord teach us to be sober and vigilant and know that this world is not our home.

My Prayer Closet - Praying the Protastúnach Paidrín - Protestant Celtic Rosary

    in Christianity

My Prayer Closet which is part of our Evangelical Church of the Celtic Cross, has a new broadcasting format. We hope you will join us and pray along. Yes it will take a little getting used to but, it is our hope and prayer that you will be receptive to it and that you find it of great spiritual help in your prayerful life and spiritual walk. Bringing you closer to our heavenly Father all the days of your life.

Though an Unorthodox and Unauthorized Version

We have found it to be acceptable and is approved by the Celtic Cross Foundation of Ministry for use with our Protestant and Non-Denominational Worshipers.

So to our Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, please don’t take offense. We understand Catholics and Protestants have specific theological differences and we can all get along because we share the same purpose, that is, a life with Christ and Heaven ever after. This is to say that stating with significant difference between the two denominations; Protestants don't put as much emphasis on Mary as do Catholics.

Protestants believe we don't need a mediator to talk to God. When the veil was torn from top to bottom (Mark 15:37-38) we believe God tore the veil as a symbolic act to say Christ's death removed the barrier that separated us from God. Now we can come to God ourselves at anytime and any place.

The following is just our Protestant Version of the Dalriadan Celtic Rosary Prayer, using God, and Christ to worship rather than Mary, and encompass purposeful communication between God, Jesus, and you.
