I have been learning so much from my Monday night conversations with Carletta. This process is helping me to stay on top of my priorities when it comes to money. It's so easy to get caught up in everyday life and forget about your financial game plan.
Which brings us to tonight's conversation "I Have Insurance on My Job". It's so easy to switch jobs and forget to update your information. So, Carletta thought this would be a good topic to discuss this Money Matters Monday. And I agree, in fact, I have a guest caller that's going to spend about 5 minutes with us to talk about their experience with transitioning from a job and trying to take their job life insurance with them. Interesting stuff.

Most people in relationships (married or not) participate in three somes, orgies, and other activicties that can ruin their relationship.
Before you start a "relationship" or start a "legal relationship" like a state sanctioned marriage have you been "educated" on how to make that relationship or "family unit" successful ?
Today on "It's My House" we shall be test driving a new podcast titled: "It's My Home". On It's My Home we shall discuss relationship issues that can break up a "home" and then put the occupants of the "house" that they live in at risk.
We shall introduce people to the concept of Family School, which is a tool that can empower people and their relationships.

Nearly one-third of U.S. workers will become disabled at some point in their career before reaching retirement, according to a 2009 estimate from the Social Security Administration. Yet the federal agency says that 70% of employees aren't covered by private long-term disability insurance. Social Security disability benefits are available for certain disabled workers, but the average payout is only 40% of a person's income and the allowance rate for initial claims can be as low as 30% in some areas of the U.S.
Individual disability insurance is truly a basic concept. It is an insurance product designed to replace anywhere from 45-60% of your gross income on a tax-free basis should a sickness or illness prevent you from earning an income in your occupation. Your most important asset is your ability to bring home a paycheck, DI makes sure that regardless of any adverse changes to your health, you are able to provide for yourself and your family. Every disability insurance policy from every insurance company is very different, this is not a product to simply shop for the most competitive rate. To buy the cheapest disability insurance policy on the market is to throw money away. The odds of getting paid a monthly benefit under a cheap contract may be significantly lower than receiving benefits from a quality contract. The goal of this show is to provide you with information to make an educated decision on your own. I will provide you with information regarding the major features of a disability insurance policy so that you may better understand how to read a disability insurance policy.
