The Power of Forgiveness: Forgiving as a Path to Freedom

    in Spirituality

The Power of Forgiveness: Forgiving as a Path to Freedom with Joan Gattuso

In this enlightening title, Gattuso shows readers how to let go of past grievances in order to embrace a life of joy and peace. Sympathetic to the often immense undertaking forgiveness requires, Gattuso provides prescriptive exercises, visualizations and meditations to help readers overcome the most emotional challenges involved in the process.

Including real-life examples of those who have chosen radical forgiveness in light of extreme circumstances, Gattuso illustrates that forgiveness is possible in even the most unthinkable situations. Yet, she also provides guidance for incorporating forgiveness into our daily lives to address the smaller grievances, as well. Whether we are irritated over a stolen parking spot or hurt from an off-handed insult, we are often unaware that our unwillingness to forgive each and every day allows anger to build up in our daily lives.

Written with empathy and offering inspiration from a number of venerated spiritual leaders, this powerful manual provides readers with the tools they need to embrace forgiveness. With the potential to be life-changing, THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS is an invaluable guidebook for anyone seeking to break free from the oppression of resentment and to embrace a more joyful life.

Joan Gattuso has studied with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and has authored three popular books that have been translated into several languages: A Course in Love, A Course in Life, and The Lotus Still Blooms. Gattuso is a well-known Unity minister.

REELTalk: JD Gordon, Patrick Murray & King's College Prof Matthew Parks

    in Politics Conservative

Joining Audrey for this week's REELTalk - it was the Spring of 1831 when French political thinker and historian, Alexis de Tocqueville came to America…that trip resulted in the brilliant work of Democracy in America...would he be stunned by the blatant end runs around the Constitution we see today? We'll find out with Prof from The King's College right here in NYC, MATTHEW PARKS. Plus, So, Obama is keeping his promise…and you know it won’t benefit America…he says he’s closing Gitmo. Can he do that and if he does, how will that affect our national security? And Iran is about to receive Billions, thanks to this President and his ilk…and yet they detained out Sailors and use it as propaganda around the world. Are they playing us for a fool? Former Spokesman for the DoD, JD GORDON, will bring the truth we're not getting from this White House. AND, Iran, poised to rake in billions, thanks to this administration…which they will use for their nuclear program…used our Navy (the most powerful Navy in the world) as propaganda against the West on the world stage. And Sec. Kerry added insult to injury, fortifying that weak image. Will the next President be able to reverse the damage this WH has done to our first line of defense? We'll find out from author & USA retired Col. PATRICK MURRAY! In the words of Benjamin Franklin, "If we do not hang together, we shall surely hang separately." Come hang with us...

  • BIG TRUST - BIG OUTCOME

    in Prayer

How do you think it would affect your life if your father tried to kill you? I was contemplating that the other day while reading the story of Abraham and Isaac. We think about the faith it took for Abraham to be willing to sacrifice his promised son but what did it take for Isaac to actually be that sacrifice?

I notice he didn't try to run or rebel against being placed on the altar. I also notice that it was Isaac who carried the wood for the burnt offering as they proceeded up the mountain. If he thought about it, it must have added insult to injury to be so used participating in his own demise.

Well I think that just as Abraham trusted God when the Lord told him to sacrifice his son, Isaac also trusted his own father Abraham. That's quite a big thing and in the end it was a trust well founded. Just before the knife fell on Isaac God stopped it.

"'Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.'"(Genesis 22:12) I'm sure that as Abraham heard those words, Isaac heard them too. What a relief; his trust was not in vain.

Don't you imagine that incident was pivotal to the rest of Isaac's life? Through it God's covenant promises were planted from father to son and on down through succeeding generations. God's promises were so powerful they even come down to us.

If you are called on to trust God in a big way, expect a BIG outcome.
