Mike Schunck, HazMat Specialist and Instructor
Our guest this morning is Mike Schunck.
Mike’s 27 years of firefighting experience cultivated his expertise as a first responder for Hazardous Material situations.
As a Hazardous Materials Specialist, Mike has responded to numerous incidents for the Oak-Way Hazardous Materials Team, as well as being an Executive Board Member for Oakland County, South/Michigan. As a primary core Instructor for the State of Michigan Hazardous Materials Training Center, Mike has created and delivered ground breaking courses in an International Forum.
He instructs at facilities throughout the United States and Canada. His instruction also covers corporate entities, response organizations and universities.
Mike serves as Adjunct Faculty in higher education facilities throughout the state of Michigan in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Occupational Safety & Health and Hazardous Materials. His on-site response has mitigated all types of events in Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia.
Mike has authored two books, Practical HazMat and Practical Confined Space. They can be found on his website at www.hazmatmike.com.
