Trust Your Journey--Why We Need to be Honest

    in Lifestyle

"Honesty and integrity are absolutely essential for success in life - all areas of life. The really good news is that anyone can develop both honesty and integrity." ~Zig Ziglar

Are you honest? Honest with others? Honest with yourself? Wow, such a powerful character trait that plays a HUGE role in our lifetime. And while the degree of honesty varies amongst us we often find excuses or reasons why it was OK to be dishonest, not to tell the whole truth or lie about something.

Join certified life coaches Sherry Pierce and Beth Brownlee Thursday, May 14th (US), at Noon ET on Trust Your Journey Radio when they discuss Trust Your Journey--Why We Need to be Honest! Feel free to call into the show at 347-945-5813 and join in the discussion or stream live via the internet using the link below. Blessings and they look forward to hearing from you!

Episode 11 Journey-In-Rhythm: GAUCHOS On One "Seasoning Around The Hoop" Guest S

    in Basketball

    http://www.newyorkgauchos.com/

    Greetings;

The New York Gauchos is America's most successful after school youth basketball and education program. The Gauchos program was established in 1967 as an adjunct youth service to the Westside Y. The Gauchos have offered inner city boys and girls an opportunity to participate in elite travel team basketball for the past 47 years, with the primary purpose of keeping them out of harms way and focused on staying in school.

Since 1967, the program has grown and now serves more than 500 young boys and girls ages 5 to 18 from its world famous Gauchos Gymnasium location with services that include; after school tutoring, college mentoring, prep school placement, SAT/ACT test preparation and a world class AAU basketball program.

The vision of combining academic mentoring with competitive basketball is the brainchild of Louis d' Almeida, an advertising executive who had come to America as a young man from Argentina seeking his own education in the United States. He later found his dream education at the Lawrenceville School and later Yale University. The Gauchos has more than 30 former players who have earned professional basketball distinction with the NBA, WNBA and EuroLeague.

So the first season was a time for preparation. This could be chaotic time, but out of chaos always comes order, so definitely a time for planning and preparation. Plans need to be put in place for the future. Seeds needed to be planted. Plans need to be set in place.

The second season was a time for incubation, nurturing, and growth. Oversee, look after and tend to what has been laid.

By the third season they could see the emergence, development a growth of their seeds or plans. Time now to reap the rewards, to harvest, to benefit from all the previous 'work'.

    !!!Peace!!!!

Occupy Your Heart - Your Spiritual Journey

    in Spirituality

    Occupy Your Heart

Physical journeys begin and end but not so with Spirituality. Spiritual journeys are ongoing and take us from one dimension to another in an ever axcending cycle.

We're not here to waste our time, to be victimized or sidelined by the circumstances that befall us.  We're here to get it together and find our way Home. Home is where the heart is and that's where we live once that connection is made.

This episode of Your Spiritual Journey is about connecting with that heart-space - your feeling center. It is where we feel that we live, not where we think. Thinking about our feelings comes after we've accepted them and identified what they mean to us. Without that step there's no getting around to where we actually live.

Then we're on the wheel of karma perpetually falling into one trap or another, traps that we created, to keep us feeling victimized and afraid. Its through self-responsibility that we break this cycle and find our way back to center.
Getting off that wheel requires us to connect with our heart. Every psychotherapist worth his/her salt knows this to be true. Guiding people back to where they "live" - that is where they "feel" - is what happens in the consulting room every day.

Only by owning and feeling those feelings then allowing ourselves to express them safely can we ever be free of that self-perpetuating karmic cycle.

So, Occupy Your Heart and you will find your way Home.
