Join TV Journalist Victoria Gaither and Michael Kay as they welcome Businesswomen Ingrid Hirstin Lazcano to the show to talk about her quinoa food based product.
According to Ingrid's website "Ingrid learned of the benefits of quinoa first-hand while working on a public relations campaign in 2005 with a research scientist and author who specialized in improving health through eating alkaline-rich foods. Intrigued by quinoa, she started eating the grain on a regular basis and noticed a significant increase in energy and a true feeling of well-being. This sparked her desire to create a line of products to share the benefits of this unique super food with U.S. consumers.
In 2006 Ingrid traveled to Bolivia to locate the world’s finest quinoa. High in the Bolivian Andes she found Royal Quinoa, which is prized over other quinoa varieties for its high protein and amino acid content.
In 2006 the first Andean Dream cookies were introduced in Whole Foods Markets, and then, in 2008, Andean Dream launched its line of quinoa pastas."
She will be in Washington DC on Saturday, May 4th at 10am at the Bolivian Embassy for Passport to the World...handing out samples of her products
Born in Jamaica raised in Barbados Ingrid “IngridB” Bazin has been atour de force on the South Florida poetry scene since 2001, turning a favor for a friend into a livelihood that has garnered her a reputation as the ultimate “Soulcialite” promoter amongst poets, singers, and musicians. LIVE: THURSDAY, 28 February 2013 at 1:00pm EST This week on Fieldstone Common, Marian Pierre-Louis interviews Ingrid Grenon, author of Down East Schooners and Shipmasters. Nothing is more iconic of Maine than the image of a majestic vessel—masts raised—gliding through the fog on the dark North Atlantic. From the early days of the search for a Northwest Passage to the quest for the mysterious and illusive Norumbega, the history of Mount Desert Island, Hancock, Bar Harbor and the res
"Jazz is evolving...it's more of a spirit than a defined idea. I don't think I'm very concerned with the label of it. I just want to do something honest."
And with that, Woodwind Wizard/Multi-Instrumentalist/Composer/Young Visionary Josh Kwaasman stole my Hybrid Heart :)
Connecticut born, now New York based, this wonderful artist learned far more in his education than his teachers dreamed. With a Masters in Music from NYU's Jazz Program, Joshua has created a project with a main focus: a lifelong friendship.
Such a beautiful story...Josh and this boy (who he idolized) would ride bikes together. Age and boldness took them further on their trails, sometimes 100 miles away from home. Each time, Josh trusted his friend to get him back safely. Each time, Justin did. It makes for some personal music, "Songs of the Brother Spirit." But our guest isn't content with merely telling HIS tales. He wants to connect with YOU. He figures that, if the music doesn't move you, then he wants no part of it. This is a very different artist! And those with whom he has shared a stage (Ingrid Jensen, Tabla Master Badal Roy) quite agree.
Please join us on Thursday, May 16th - at two p.m. Eastern USA time - as we learn more about this ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award-Winner (twice, consecutively!) His solo at Lincoln Center...headlining at JazzPeru...his philosophy of texturing on stage (fascinating!). Let's open some doors into The Future of Jazz. We cannot find a more eloquent spokesperson :)
