Many families feel the effects of a loved one who has to serve time behind bars, spending years away from family members. Some are married prior to their incarceration and struggle to maintain relationships during that time. Some strive to find loving relationships after their release. But prison takes its toll on a person, and sometimes the trauma of being caged like an animal for a long period of time makes it difficult to form and maintain a healthy marriage after ones release.
